DukeLeto Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 I was thinking of buying WCIII (again). I wasn;t too impressed in the first go-around, hence why I sold it back.( :P) But now it's down to about $30 USD, and that seems a bit more reasonable. I was just wansering what y'all think of it... ;) (I didn't play it that much. I pretty much saw the group cap and tossed it out. :P)
Razorox Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 I always knew your judgement was flawed leto...now you're beginning to question it yourself. ;D Unless your planning on grabbing generals, than wc3 is the only rts on the menu for the foreseeable future. Or you could just buy ut2k3 ;D
Anathema Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 Buy it.Btw, anybody know if there will be an X pack for WCIII?
Terror Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 Buy it.Btw, anybody know if there will be an X pack for WCIII?There do not seem to be plans yet...but i dunno. World of Warcraft will take place 4 years after Warcraft III. So i just don't know. The game is popular, that could give it a good chance to get an expansion though.BTW Leto, have you played Warcraft 3's singleplayer campaign?
DukeLeto Posted December 29, 2002 Author Posted December 29, 2002 BTW Leto, have you played Warcraft 3's singleplayer campaign?Only the tutorial and the orc campaign...both missions. That was kinda a letdown. I liked the Orcs in WarII.
Anathema Posted December 29, 2002 Posted December 29, 2002 I liked the campaigns. The story is good. Particulary the part were Arthas went insane.
d3m0nger Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 have you ever played some custom games online duke? i mean like :-Tower defense-Starship troopers-Aeon on strife-Hero arena-Golems-SHEEPand about 30 others..
thomas Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 have you ever played some custom games online duke? i mean like :-Tower defense-Starship troopers-Aeon on strife-Hero arena-Golems-SHEEPand about 30 others..AND HELMS DEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DukeLeto Posted December 30, 2002 Author Posted December 30, 2002 Nah, I don't play UMS maps very much.
Terror Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 no, me neither. I just play 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 games. I hardly play larger games
Desert_Eagle25 Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 trust me, play online for about a week and you'll be hooked. Also paly some custom games, quite fun.
Khan Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Custom games are good but NEVER EVER play LoTR game, they always suck.
DukeLeto Posted December 31, 2002 Author Posted December 31, 2002 trust me, play online for about a week and you'll be hooked.I'd love to mate, but I have a 46.6K connection... :'(
Khan Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 People with a 56K that I know have a fine connection.
DukeLeto Posted January 1, 2003 Author Posted January 1, 2003 StarCraft lags me up, so don't bet on it...
DukeLeto Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 I found it for 30 bucks! That's the magic number! If I had a license, I'd jump in my car and go buy it now! Hmm, wait...I know where my parent's keys are! See ya later! (j/k about that last part, of course.) But, seriously, it should be more fun without the $60 price tag... ;)
DukeLeto Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 Hmm...Orcs, I guess. Except the grunt is SOOOO much weaker than it's counterparts.
Anathema Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Huh? It's the strongest of them all. I don't know about multiplayer (I'm not very experienced) but in the campaigns the orcs don't necesserily require siege machines, because the grunts are so powerfull.
DukeLeto Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 Doesn't the undead one have like 660 HP while the Orc one has only 100-something? ???
Anathema Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Eh, no, the other way around. The undead ghoul is I believe around 200 hit points, and the grunt is at 700 hp (after the latest patch) and can be upgraded to 800 hp.
d3m0nger Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 Hmm...Orcs, I guess. Except the grunt is SOOOO much weaker than it's counterparts.Duke, A grunt is orc's best unit, when im done upgrading it, it does more damage then a Tauren hit (42 damage), can you imagine? a grunt with 800 Hp with 6 armor and dealing 42 damage? and it doesn't cost much, 3 food and 235 gold and NO wood, now, lets compare it to Any other unit in the game, A knight fully upgraded does 44 damage, but eats 5 food and costs 350 and some wood dont remember cuz i dont play humans. As you can see grunts are awesome.
Terror Posted January 2, 2003 Posted January 2, 2003 eeuh, that's not true. Taurens do more damage than Grunts, you probably compare a lvl 0 Tauren to a lvl 3 Grunt, cuz a lvl 3 Tauren does a lot more damage, is a lot stronger, more armor except that it has heavy armor, costs more food and more money, it is better than the grunt in every single way
