Wel, i miss the old days of emperor and i'm feeling like helping the community with my 5th thread, i've already made 4, would someone care to give me the links?

Anyway, here goes:

Scout

1. It is fast.

2. It can see further then most units.

3. Is mostly used to quickely scout the map.

1. It is very lightly armoured.

2. can be killed by almost everything.

Is perfect for early scout missions, these units can quickely scout the map for you.

Light Infantry.

1. It is quite cheap.

2. In harkonen rushes it is an good unit to rush with.

3. It can be effectively used against early scouts.

4. Its quite effective against light tanks.

BAD

-----------------------------------

1. As the name says, it is light armoured.

2. They don't keep up with your other rushing units.

3. They do very little damage to heavily armoured tanks.

5. They do little damage against buildings.

This unit is good to rush with, its qoog against the vehicles your opponent buys early in the game and is quite good against infantry too (you need to bring them in masses ofcourse ;) )

Flametrooper.

1. Its good against infantry.

2. Its quite good against light armoured tanks.

1. Its slow.

2. its quite expensive for its abilities.

3. It takes too long to have them for rushes

a. because they require an upgrade.

b. upgrades are costly, instead you could get for example: an turret.

I've heard somewhere that flameweapons are good against worms.

Engineer.

GOOD

1. It has an weapon, unlike the other engineers.

2. It can capture buildings (can only be done once)

3. It can remove infected units (units with leech larvae's)

4. It can instantly repair a damaged friendly building (can only be done once)

1. It is slow.

2. It is easily killed.

3. It requires an upgrade.

4. Its pistol is weak.

An good tactic to use with the engineer is to bring 1 with you with an rush, kill all your opponent's troops, or all your opponent's troops on his path, sneak him in and take over an construction yard, else an baracks, don't bother taking the weapons factory because he'll still have the option to build turrets AND tanks, disable his ability to build turrets first because rushes are quite weak against sudden turrets.

TROOPER.

2. It can attack airunits.

The trooper is good to bring with you for spice raids, its good against tanks and airplanes too, although i don't advice you to bring them with you on very early rushes since their production wil stop the production of units which i find more important in rushes.

5. It has more armour then the other light armoured tanks.

2. Its weak against units like the minotaur and assault tanks.

An buzsaw is an good rushing unit, it has duel guns and therefor can easily destroy early vehicles like the dustscout, it can also run over infantry making it an terror on a wheel with an medium speed.

Assault tank.

1. It has an good armour.

2. It can be an good unit to bring with you when you're rushing.

3. It has an powerfull shell.

4. Its shell never misses.

1. It lacks range.

2. Its vulnerable against anti armour units.

3. Its slow compared to the other harkonen units (excluding the devastator)

The assault tank is more of an distraction, yes it has an good gun and an assault tank can own 5 buzsaw - 1 assault tank but it draws fire, this is good since it provides time for your other units to damage/destroy his army.

1. Its good against infantry.

2. Its fast.

3. Its quite good against buildings.

4. Its good against worms.

1. No AA-capabilities.

Its good against worms, if your opponent makes alot of worms and you don't have fremen or sardaukar, build some flametanks.

Missile tank.

1. It has an powerfull round of missiles.

2. It can destroy almost all kinds of tank units in 1 round.

3. It can shoot air units.

4. Its quite fast considering its power.

1. Its lightly armoured.

2. Its weak against almost any type of fire.

3. It needs an upgrade.

4. Its easily picked on by fedaykins.

Missile tanks are quite good hit 'n run units, it can kill an minotaur in 1 round, an kobra in 2 rounds, everything that survives his wrath it heavily damaged, its good for spice raids.

Catapult.

GOOD

1. Its quite fast.

2. Its the longest ranged tank in the game.

3. its weapon is good against non-moving infantry.

BAD

----------------------------------

1. It cannot shoot airplanes.

2. Its trajectile is slow and shot high and needs an few seconds before impact.

3. Its only purpose for me is to weaken their army or kill their airdefences/kindjal.

This is THE unit for killing those annoying mortar infantries/kindjals/troopers they have an very large range and can lure out enemy troops too, just retreat your catapult to an far away place and he can kiss his troops goodbye, perhaps this tactic abuses the pathfinding bugs but its an punishment for him, he should've taken more care to of his troops.

AIRPLANES

Gunship.

2. It has an medium speed.

3. It has an powerfull duel gun.

1. It warns the enemy that its aproaching by an sound it makes.

2. Its ammo easily runs out.

3. Its missiles are slow.

Building this unit in masses is an good thing, it can easily destroy all the important buildings in an base but watchout for those airdrones, airdrones are the best AA-weapons and can easily destroy an entire gunship fleet.

Aircraft Defence Platforrm (ADP)

1. Its ammo doesn't run out.

2. It can continieusly assault its target(s).

1. Its slow.

2. It is weak against aa fire.

The ADP is an good unit to bring with attacks on ordos people, they can damage shielded units so severely that they lose their shield and some health, meaning that they'll dramaticaly slow down, easy targets. This also counts for units without shield, now you might think, some aa would work, but if you are an good player you should bring buzsaws/assault tanks and troopers under the ADP's range.

Advanced carryall.

2. Its weak when its picking up an vehicle.

This is an nice units for devastator drops, pick up an devastator and drop it next to some kobra's, or next to an building in his base, devastators can destroy anything thats in their range.

SOME BASIC RUSHES

Build Order: (BO)

Construction Yard >> Windtrap >> baracks >> factory >> refinery >> flameturret >> windtrap >> refinery >> flameturret >> flameturret.

First deploy your construction yard near the edge of the map, make a windtrap and deploy it CLOSE to the construction yard, as close as possible.

Click on the baracks icon and wait until the baracks is finished, deploy it close to the edge, like all the other buildings you wil buy/build.

Upgrade the baracks when it's deployed close to the edge.

In the mean time build some scouts and send them to the corners of the map, then build some light infantry units and station each one near an entrance so that they wil protect your base against early scouts.

As soon as the upgrade is done build an engineer, protect it wel because it's very important to win the game.

queue up some more light infantry units and deploy your factory.

As soon as your factory is deployed build 3 buzsaws and check out your enemy, if he's building lots of buzsaws/dustscouts or sandbikes build an assault tank and then some buzsaws, if not, continieu the buzsaw production.

Your refinery must be ready by now, deploy it and upgrade it twice and build your flameturret (hint hint, engineer ;) )

Once your group is large enough to kill the enemy bring your light infantry units/buzsaws and if you have 1 the assault tank with you and let them regroup close to his base.

Use the buzsaws/light infantru units and if possible the assault tank to kill all his units, or atleast make a hole in his defence large enough to escort the engineer safely to the con. yard or baracks, remember, the buzsaws and light infantry units and if you have an assault tank, the assault tank are not important, only the engineer.

Once you've captured the con. yard or the factory, inmediatly deploy your flameturret, use it to destroy the enemy buildings like the con. yard or baracks or the factory, once these are down you can easily win the game.

If he undeployes his con. yard use the buzsaws to destroy the mcv and lead the engineer to the factory and capture the factory since you have no fear of sudden enemy turrets anymore.

Remember, this tactic wont work against very good E:BFD players, but it works against MOST players if you use this wel.

It sure gives an good feeling making this topic, perhaps i shall make ones for Atreides and Harkonen too ;) then i would have 8 topics helping newbies :)

It would help if you removed the 'n' away from 'an', it's incorrect spelling :) And it gives 3 characters... ;D

It can help if you put advantages with it which you don't notify the first time you play the game. Like that the missile tank is a good tank for projection. And sortlikes

oh and flametanks are the best to use against worms/wormriders.

Wel, as i said, you need to give me screenshots first.

Timenh: I'm having troubles with "a" and "an", i don't know which to use ??? so i just follow my feelings :-[

Flame Tanks are good vs infantery. And Worms have the armor type of infantery. You can see that when snipers shoot at the worm and do surprising much damage

And use 'a' in front of a word which starts with a consonant (medeklinker) like: a house

And use 'an' in front of a word which starts with a vowel (klinker) like: an army (note 'u' like in uniform counts as a consonant)

Some Harkonen units suck abd are annoying. Flamethrowers blow up when they die and can cause the infantry around them to die to. The best units are the death-hand missle ;D (the most powerful super-weapon I think), assult tank, buzz saw, troopers, and the gunships. you can all ways throw in a couple of missle tanks.

You forgot to mention that the advanced carry is good for the engie dropping ;)

Advantage of scout: detection of invisible units and a scout is the cheapest way to get rid of those annoying projections ( i call this the scout attack ).

Advantage of engineer: it can repair your buildings and counters the effect of the theilaxu virus.

Advantage of buzsaw: ability to destroy enemy spicefields by driving over it.
