TMA_1
well maybe somebody else already did.lol but D'murr talks about an enemy that is close to them when they folded into deep uncharted space. He said they all needed to go or else the enemy would get them.Later Ajidica, the major researcher of Amal talks about how he sent face dancers all across the uncharted areas of space. Could it be that after thousands of years these face dancers somehow reproduced or were amassed in huge quantities, and during the scattering they met up with these ancient face dancers from the early amal experamental stage when the Tleilaxu wanted to dominate the known universe? That these face dancers that were to be used as a weapon from afar were stranded and only found till the scattering whcih frank herbert wrote about? just wondering. SiliconWarrior
he said "Ancient Enemy-future enemy" so i think he was refering to the thinking machines.
TMA_1
where was that stated?
VigilVirus
I think since all those facedancers were "loyal" to Ajidica because of the ajidamal - they all died when the ajidamal was destrioyed. Seems logical to me.
TMA_1
hmmm that was only mentioned about the sardaukar. I think that you are just making an assumption on that, unless you know the page number where it is stated. Not being mean or anything I just want to know about this stuff. :)
VigilVirus
Yeah, I remember the number of the page, paragraph, line and symbol of that statement :P. I am not making this up. Seriously - if you didn't know Ajidica addicted not only all of his servant o amal, but the Master researchers.
TMA_1
I dont think he would give it to his slave face dancers though. It was never mentioned. I just read House Corrino.
VigilVirus
He gave it to his facedancers to make sure they were loyal only to him and not any of the other Masters. It was mentioned that he gave his servants, sardaukar and Masters amal.
TMA_1
but nothing about face dancers.lol it is never mentioned anywhere. any more info on the idea?
Emperor Harkonnen
that part in house corrino where the heighliner went outside the known universe, I considered the coolest part in the whole novel! it was so cool! Maybe it was some alien specie(dunno spelling) that would have been so cool
Anathema
Why would face dancers spread by the Tleilaxu scientist want to attack D'Murs highliner (they were going to destroy it)? It would be stupid to provoke the guild. My guess is that they were cymeks.
Emperor Harkonnen
but cymeks were exterminated during BJ
AlteaDeo
sureprise, surprise....I'm sure that was thinking machine.Still, the face dancers theory isn't that bad. But, just remember those face dancers from the last novels. They just don't seems violent at all, or such.I personnally think that they could be the best weapon against thinking machine who would come back from the scattering.... Anathema
TMA, are you sure he said spreading them out to uncharted systems? No highliners go there, and no Tleilaxu can learn to guide a fold space ship like a Guild member can.
Dante
I think it was thinking machines. And until the next book comes out I think it's either [hide] Seurat or Hecate. [/hide] I don't think it's the Tleilaxu. Unless of course it's the big evil thing the Honoured Matres were running from. In which case maybe that's a machine. So many questions... Timenn
Maybe some people can be so nice here to warn for spoilers!
AlteaDeo
well, usually, when you hide some text, that's mostly spoilers....
IxianMace
I think Timenn was talking about posts prior to the post containing the hidden text as well. I haven't read the books that are being described here, so yeah, it would be helpful if people took spoilers into consideration more carefully. >:( ::)
Lord J
I agree, Dust, I think it was [hide]Hecate.[/hide]
Inhuien
Well this is what i think [hide] BH and that Kevin chap are setting up there own saga here, that being the final battle with the returning AI, the clue came in the butlerian jihad hen the Gedi Prime overmind launched all those probe's. And its the returning AI hordes that the Navigator sensed. bear in mind that these returning AL's would not foldspace tech and it could (i suppose) take them many 1000's of years to complete the journey, just in time for book 7. [/hide]So there:) ;D
Colonel_Worf
I'm betting good money it'll be a Titan who split before the Jihad.
