true, choosing a tech level is a bit hard... i for instance don't exactly know what units you can build on what tech level

there are tech levels (you can see them in rules.txt)

but I agree there should be an ability to choose on skirmishes etc.

rules.txt is only found for mod and by changing the tech lvl u might not have to upgrade yr building to get a particular unit.Tech Level 1 should be something like basic turrets and basic infantry only

they probably forgot about it. prebuilt, superweapons, fog of war, and living world wasnt availible in Dune2k, so maybe they didnt want to make it.

Tech Level is not useful anymore I guess coz each house has totally different units and subhouses like Tleilaxu might need Factory to build the vat[The contaminator is an inf and should be lower tech]

no its always in the game, you just cant always see it, its archived in model.rfh in emperordata.

and WOL = westwood on line.
