An Apology From an Arab

An Arab intellectual apologizes, and explains

As an Egyptian, I find myself compelled to apologize to the American people for what happened to them on Sept. 11. I apologize because one of those involved in that horrible disaster was Egyptian. As a man of letters, I declare myself innocent of having any part in the creation of the culture that spawned these individuals.

A long time before New York City's Twin Towers were destroyed, many towers in my country were brought down by this same brand of perpetrators. They killed President Anwar Sadat, who initiated peace with Israel and liberalism in Egypt; they killed the Egyptian writer Farag Fouda, a defender of freedom and secularism; they stabbed our Nobel laureate, Naguib Mahfouz, when he was 82 years old, after discovering that 30 years earlier he had written a novel they considered the work of an infidel. They said they had not read the novel. Who told them it was sacrilegious? Someone living in a cave in the mountains of Afghanistan, or sitting in a London caf

I don't know much about it. but if your intrsted empworm go to this website And look for the subject "islam" theres quite a few books writen by somebody/people <He/they is/are a chirstian/chistians>. i never was much intrested but anyway heres the website. http://www.chick.com/catalog/booklist.asp

Question if these guys are so against Islam and teach against Islam why have a site the looks like Islam (anyone can take a look at this site and see the Islamic influence)? I mean if you were teaching against Satan would you make your website Satanic in apperance. This site is confusing based apon the direction it wants to take or have visitors believes it takes. It just seems to give a double message.

Not at all. I have a book of "Darwin Awards" with a proven story that is much funnier. For those that don't know, a Darwin Award is given to someone who removes themself from the gene pool in an absurdly incompetant way. Sometimes trajic, but often funny, as in this case. The switch from daylight savins time caused consternation among terrorist groups in 1999.

At precisely 5:30 P.M. Israel Standard Time, two coordinated car bombs exploded in different cities, killing three terrorists who were transporting the bombs. It was initially believed that the devices had been detonated prematurely by klutzy amateurs. A closer look revealed the sardonic truth behind the untimely explosions.

Three days before, Israel had made a premature switch from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time in order to accomodate a week of Slihot, involving presunrise prayers. Palestinians refused to "live on Zionist time" and kept their clocks on daylight savings time. Two weeks of scheduling havoc ensue.

The bombs were prepared during this unsettled period. They were armed ina Palestine-controlled area, and set on Daylight Savings Time. The confused drivers, however, had already switched to Standard time. As a result, the cars were still on route when the explosives detonated, delivering the terrorists to their well deserved demise.

On a more serious note, I don't see how a religion can call themselves peaceful when they were founded in violence and opression, and the very core of their beliefs, the Qur'an, is filled with such hateful and prejudicial messages.

Groups like Hamas or Al-Qaida are led by evil masterminds. But all that visible work is done by people named terrorists.
