I don't think so. I believe the small flames that come from a gun are part of the firing animation.

Ok take a look at the cropped screenshot. See the normal muzzle flash combined with the green muzzle flash? I just want to know, is there a way to eliminate the normal muzzle flash of the gun turret, so that it doesn't combine with and other muzzle flashes you add? Even after I deleted the muzzle flash information for the gun turret's 'turret' entirely, the normal muzzle flash still appeared! Is there a way to get rid of it so it doesn't show? ???

Nope, the muzzles are also part of the xbf file.
