xbox vs ps2...you know it was coming

Hey all, I was wondering what some of your opinions are on the xbox and ps2. I would imagine we have owners of both here on the boards. Let me know what you like about each system or what you don't like. Are you happy with the system you got? Are there any particular games that you just have to mention?

PS2:

Pros: GTA series; Final Fantasy series; built-in dvd w/o need for remote (but still has bad quality); don't know anything else that is good on PS2.

Cons: Just about everything else, including the add-on (probably 100$) HDD, the adapter (probably 40-50$, and is only 56k), the varieted online services (which depend on publisher), etc.

Xbox:

Pros: Everything.

Cons: Occasional disk errors; no GTA;

Xbox has better quality but less quantity in games. but i think thats gonna change :) .

How do you like XBOX Live? I only have a 56k so with an XBOX, I couldn't go online. I could go online with a PS2.

I like the looks of Grand Theft Auto. But I also like the looks of some X only games, like one called Deathrow. Many of the games I like, such as Medal of Honor, are on either system. So, I'm slightly torn between them =)

Least I know what DJ thinks...hehe.

I also like sports games on a console. I've played Madden for a while, since it started. I noticed that EA has some kinda problem with XBOX online service since they allow Madden to be online for PS2 but not X....I wonder what the problem is.

Cause there EA and(pardon my bluntness) EA is the worst group of blood thirsty sons a bitchs that ever made a game. Pumping out games, sucking up the profits, saying screw the fans, abonding the game to move onto another blood sucking game.....evil sons a bitchs...

They have NFL Fever 2k3 online. EA has been against LIVE since the beginning, so them making a Xbox LIVE game is improbable.

You just watch a kick ass scene from the matrix you want to see it again. image telling your date.

first off, i don't use the dvd thing. that does suck horribly. i just use my own DVD player. i just love all the kickass games for it. althought there hasn't been many good games for a little while. i don't care. i just like sony about 30 times more than microsoft. i hate bill gates.

Well, now I know how ex feels about EA =) I also know how DJ feels about the XBOX and how acriku feels about the Catholic church (from the other thread :)

I already have a dvd player. In fact, I have a spare DVD player. So, unless there is a major disaster, using it as a DVD wouldn't be a priority. I think most already have a DVD anyway (at least in the US).

Hehe...do those games have as much freedom as the impression that I'm getting? That is one thing that certainly has appeal in a game. You can deviate from the story and do a number of things....just have fun...yet the story is great also. Is that the case?

yes, Scytale is right. you can just go on rampages and you never lose. you always have another chance, unless you run out of money for the hospital bill or jailbail. Vice city is awesome!, as long as you turn bullet trails off. Same with GTA3, if thats possible. the gfx on vice city are horrible with bullet trails, and the trails arent that great.

This is what they (The gamebook ''power unlimited'') said about the ps2/Gamecube and the xbox;

-Playsation 2 (Sony): Made for the usual gamer, It is the slowest of the three, but has the best gameplay, The controllers are easiest to use in comparison to the Xbox and Gamecube. It was also able to play DVD's in a bad quality fashion.

-Xbox (Microsoft): Xbox, Made for the professional player. Worthless controllers, can't be used by young children due to the size of the controllers. The Xbox(The first 500.000 that were released in Europe) were noisy, it was very disturbing while playing a game. And like Acriku said ''Occasional disk errors''

-Gamecube (Nintendo) Smallest of the three, made for children, no voilence. Good controllers only a bit small.

occasionally disc errors my friends x-box says disc error or dirty disc 4/5 times >:(

Yea, what kind of problems have you guys had. There is the XBOX thing just mentioned. Has that happened to some of you.....DJ or anyone else?

I heard some say that the PS2 breaks easy or soemthing like that. Anyone have problems with that?
