Whuts good?

I've never really played RPG's so gimme some good names for beginners. Also a real simple and fun FPS, resembling Counter-Strike.

I'm definitely getting Battle Realms, thats for shure tho ;D

FPS: Serious Sam: 2nd encounter. People should buy it even just for the graphics (especially fun in LAN games). Another good one is Morrowind. Exclellent weather enviorment (?), especially lightning, it's breath taking. Morrowwind is about solving quests you receive by talking to people. The game is huge, you will not finish it quickly.

A game that had me drawn into it for more then a year (and I still play it sometimes) is Diablo II (plus the expansion LoD).

And about fun, Serious sam IS fun, just listen to some of his comments :) And like I said, in a LAN surrounding (or via the Net) it can be extremely fun (just watch your oponents burn to death when torched with a flame thrower :)). And yes, the graphics are better then in RA2, IMHO, SS has the best graphics I've seen so far.

Dungeon Siege is also a good game to play. It's also 3D.

Morrowind is not as funny as I find Serious Sam, but game play is excellent and there's some funny stuff in it (those of you who play it surely remember the wizzard that feel out of the sky :))

I have alot of games but il just tell ya the really good ones I recomend. Return to castle Wolfenstein is a good buy. Graphics are good and there are lotsa fun guns to play with ;D.

Wolfentstien is like a first person game in WWII. Another great gamer I have is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon. It a first person game and you and your squad of elite green berets go around and do missions. You are the squard commander and you tell the other guys where to go. It one of the more realistic games. And finally, prob my favorite first person nowadays is Soldier of Fortune 2 Double Helix. That game is just good. Nothing else to say. Graphics are insanely good and the guns are awsome. I would recomend that one alot. Those are three of my best games so if you get anyone of them you will be happy.

Have you tried Battle Realms :P

I recently got a first person shooter...Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt. The game seemed really cool and now that I've actually seen it being played, I like it even more. The only problem is my graphics card can't handle it so it crashes. I'm not sure if you'd like that sorta game but it is the only FPS to get my attention.

The coolest thing is going into the tower of a church in multiplayer and picking off other people with your sniper's rifle.

Diablo 2 and the expansion is a great game, i played it since it came out, and still do!

Although its quite old now, I still recommend Max Payne for a great game. Excellent graphics, superb gameplay and stunning surround sound!

The storyline is very well thought up aswell

Serious Sam 1 and 2 are both superb aswell, just for the sheer enjoyment of killing 300 monsters with a gattling cannon! ;D

Yeah, it is great game, but i think the storyline is a bit twisted.

Another great game, and one which didnt get a lot of rcognition (where i live anyway) is Thief 2. It was great, a bit like Return to castle Wolfenstein, but was very difficult as it involved a lot more thinking and planning. I cant wait to get my hands on Thief 3, and Unreal 2, both are looking pretty nice

Medal of Honor : Allied Assault

Battle Realms (a definite pick)

Ghost recon isn't on the list because i already have this game.

you should definitely get medal of honor, great single player, and good multi though you better have cable (even then its laggy) or a large lan.

as for rpgs, the only one you need is chrono trigger for SNES, you can get and emulator and rom on the web.

So your aiming for an FPS, if so, why not add Serious Sam 2: 2nd encounter ? It doesn't need top notch harwdare to be run and IS fun to play..

I also saw someone recommend Thief, this is also an excellent game.

If your computer isn't that great, and you havn't played it yet, there is only one option as far as FPS go. That option is Unreal Tournament. It is the best FPS ever, period. If your computer is at least 1ghz, geforce 2 ti 64mb, then w8 another month for unreal tournament 2003, it puts the graphics in EVERY other game on the market to shame, and will most definitely be just as solid as UT. So basically go for the Unreal series if your looking for a good FPS and havn't played it yet. I'm not really into RPG games, but neverwinter nights looks really tempting...

unreal tournament = low sys req

unreal tournament 2003 = very high sys req

neverwinter nights = high sys req

morrowind = high sys req

diablo II = low sys req

serious sam 2 = medium sys req

RTCW = medium sys req

medal of honor = high sys req

renegade = crappy game, do not buy

Battle Realms = have no idea about this game

Jedi Knight II = high sys req

there's your options and the approximate requirements...the decision is yours.

Razor is right about Medal of Honor's system requirements...I can't play it. But, I have the box right here and I'm pretty sure your computer can handle it.

It says AMD Athlong, ATI rage 128, at least 450 mhz processor...you should be fine.

Try Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. The graphics are excellent, and the storyline is great. Of course I happen to like Star Wars. ;)

Well well, what a pleasant surprise.... We DO have something in common :)... I love star wars as well... JKII rocks!

As for MOHAA.... it's good... but not that great.. I didn't realy like it. But probably you will cuz many people are very enthousiastic about it
