Well, after a year I am finally losing my Emperor addiction. Or at least I'm trying a new drug. LOL. WCIII kicks Emperor's ass in many ways. I still love Emp, and I'll still play it, but only as a snack between long feasts of WCIII. The further I get into the WCIII campaigns, the more apparent it becomes that Blizzard has created a great game that puts Emperor to shame. THAT'S a shame too, because Emperor could be SOOOO much better if Westwood hadn't abandoned it. Right about now, there ought to be a nice expansion for Emperor, but there won't be. There should have been numerous patches, but there haven't been. The Emperor sales should still be going strong, but they aren't. And the fan base for Emperor should be skyrocketing like Red Alert 2, but it isn't. Maybe EA will get it right with C&C Generals, but for right now, WCIII is the new kid on the block, and the new kid is one big 3D SOB who's beating up the old kid (Emperor) and taking his lunch money.

i bought WCIII last week and have been playing it non stop since. Its a brilliant game... good graphics, good range of units, magic, skills etc. Ive just been playing single-player custom battles to learn the game,

My cousin is coming round later to install WCIII on his PC for LAN play so i'll be able to test the game out against a human player. :) Can't wait!

However, for the time being, i think Emperor stills sits in the throne of RTS games for me. ;)

I'v been looking for another good RTS game (i only play Emperor) but i dont know if thats gonna be WC3.

I normally dont like RTS's with heroes and spells and everything. But it does look sweet.

I'm not really on a WCIII server because I don't do multiplayer yet. Give me a couple of weeks. I'm playing through the Undead campaign right now (done with the Humans). I'm learning the controls and the units, and then I'll choose a race to specialize with. I look forward to playing with and against you guys. Later, buds.

one fo the easiest races to defend with is definitely the undead.

Personally, i like the NE for their rushing qualities and the Orcs..just cuz their orcs ;D
