Future for the Humans or other.

Well Edric that's nothing to be sad, alot of people made good things in the war without out fighting Oscar Schindler, some politicians, and also factories need people to run them. Not everyone is fit for war and the fact is I don't know how I would react if I was in the front line I would have pissed my pants for sure if I had been in the D-Day operation.

But soldiers are tought how to react so that they wont think when in battle they'll act.

I also agree with that :)

Humans have the born atrection to violence. And until we "grow" over this "childisch" behavior we will always be committed to fight, to harbor hate and unecuallety against others.

well we tried being pacifists in the 2ww didn't work for some countries. I don't aprove of violence, but sometimes you have to fight, if the allied hadn't we would have spoken german (no offence) and had white hair, blue eyes and been in the Hitlerjugend.

Humans are built to where to end violence we would have to be genetically altered to forever end violence. Maybe when we evolve into more advanced beings, we would get rid of some...

Genetically altered and how would this even be done? There is no way I could even begin to agree with that, it makes no sense. What are you proposing to do to the human race by altering their genetics make them into cattle for slaughter?

What if your by altering the genes you in turn destroy something vital to the human race as a whole? Genetic re-engineering is not the answer to the violence that humans display, that would have to be a psychogical re-education on the understanding of violence or excessive use of violence.

OK what lessons can we show from past civilzations and the effect on our modern times. I mean as certain civilzations rise in their decline the give way to things of their own undoing.

Humans will never outgrow violence. it will alwas be around. and if you alter genetics to make humans not violent then there not humans. there something else

There are no genetics found that stop violence. It comes from a deeper root. the soul uses the brain as a key to this realm. Nothing will stop war. only when we attain perfection can we stop war. imperfection cant make perfection. On the other hand though Perfection can do this.

Biblically WE are responsible for the nature of sin. Our father adam sinned in the garden. We as humankind let sin come into our lives and we cant blame god for our own free will. its getting into a religious talk I know. but it has to do with the future of humans in my opinion:)

The_old_worm, when you talked about the blanket of freedom I could almost hear you say: "The truth? You can't handle the truth!!" ;D

Without violence there would be no NEED to fight for freedom. Without violence we would be one step closer to perfection, one step closer to creating heaven on earth. Imagine a world with no weapons, a world where no man has hurt another for millenia. Imagine the wonderful achievements of such a world.

And that world has a name: Utopia. A dream that can never come true...

Wouldn't Life be boring if there is only peace? Thats why the Phrase. Good cant exist without evil and Evil cant exist without good.

Too much evil and its too hellish to life on the place.

Too much good and you will die of Boredom and..... ummm ehhhh... Overdosis of Peace.

;D

Edric has a Good point there.

Edric, I almost felt like Jack Nicolson as I wrote that. I was wondering if anyone would catch it.

While I don't agree with Colnel Jessip that freedom should come at any cost, I do agree that sometimes undesireable actions need to be taken to protect it.  Passifists, though, I think are cowards. " Let someone else fight for my freedom, while I criticise them for fighting." That's the hypocrisy.

Kirov is right on, what a boring world it would be without some violence.  I'm not a war monger, but I do think that we thrive on the balance between war and peace.  War has had it's benefits as well as it's detriments.

Do you realise the advances in technology we have made because of war.  Medicine would be centuries behind without warfare to teach doctors how to handle the worst of injuries, many technologies that we use everyday derives from wartime discoveries.  The fact is that Man is at his best under adverse circumstances.  We achieve more under diress, then we would in a utopian society.

And waiting for "God" to make us perfect causes stagnation in our species.  Religion holds back new discoveries and slows the progress of science.  Let me ask this; If we are try to become more like God, doesn't that include advancing our knowledge of the universe around us?  Then why does religion constantly and agressively attack science?  It's because they are afraid of the answers we are finding out there that contradict the writings in the Bible.

Evolution, for example, is the most supported theory out there making it the most likely, then why don't Christians accept it as at least a possibility. The reason is if the Bible is proved to be fallable, then some extent of that Blind faith is lost causing the church to lose some of it's control over the masses.  Free thought is the ultimate enemy of Religion!
