I want honest opinions here:

Which is better: Tiberian Sun or StarCraft, and why?

My vote is:

Tiberian Sun because:

No group or unit caps.

Sidebar building.

Construction yard as opposed to a unit.

Multiple difficulty levels.

One-click interface.

3D, deformable terrain.

Etc.

Posted

Starcraft.

-More strategical options and variety

-3 sides rather then 2

-Graphics aren't THAT much worse

-Actuall support for the game

-Not made by cheap bastard company

TIBERIAN SUN

- Much better interface (I LOVE the C&C sidebar - too bad it won't be in Generals)

- Better missions

- Just as good story

- Many more movies, and of better quality (James Earl Jones!!!)

- Interactive terrain (tiberium, veins)

- Deformable terrain

- Storms (ion, meteor...)

- Better feeling

- The Westwood resource and building system (Con Yard + Refinery + Harvester)

- Cool units :)

I really don't like the same construction system over-and-over again. When I played Ra2 I thought "Haven't I played this game before?" I didn't.

Ps

I'm looking forward to Earth 2160. Not much info yet, but Earth 2150 included:

-Ability to modify terrain (dig trenches etc)

-Underground warfare (tunnels)

-Ability to put various weapons on different chassis types

-Cool music and general theme (especially ED :))

-Good balancing (generally)

That's not much of a reson...I could say for TS, then:-Blizzard sucks. But i didn't. Let's stick to the game itself.

Starcraft duh!

Better online system.

Buit in map editor. with trigers and such

much better singel player

3 completly different sides

Protos are good for micromangers

Zerg are good for massers

Terrens are good for...a little bit of both

But you can...

Mass your protos

Micromanage your zerg

Micromanage/mass your terrens

Thats the thing it has such a reply value.

westwood sux.....

I got starcraft not too long ago and only played through the human campaign..not even finished that. I did like starcraft though.

Now, Tiberian Sun, I was not impressed with. It is very different from the RA series, and in my opinion, no where near as good. I let someone borrow the game and I'm not sure I want it back...lol. The game was just slow, the storyline not too good. Maybe it was too sci-fi for me, I'm not sure.

Starcraft

- Better graphix (you may insult me for that but that is just what i think)

- Way better gameplay (most strategic game i know)

- Great options with triggers... it gives the game a lot of options

- easy to use map editor

- Better music

- Three totally different sides (don't agree with ExAtreides explanation though, i think all races are good for micromanagement)

- Great online community/support

- Good latency

I think TS sold a lot worse than starcraft. Also, I think a lot of the people who play the C and C series were disappointed with TS. That's just the general feel that I got but I could be wrong.

hahah :) Starcraft rulezz... it's one of the most played RTS games online... it easily defeats TS. Hah, even when battle.net is down more people play starcraft mplayer online than they do TS :). And though to you the graphix may look cartoonish.. the style absolutely is not.. Finish the campaign and you'll learn of the fate of the universe with the queen of blades on top! (my favorite). It's just so impressive to see all those huge battlecruisers of the UED flee back to earth in a cutscene while later you hear that they all have been eridicated by the mighty swarm!

Your pathetic Swarm shall feel the wrath of the Sons of Aiur! EN TARO TASSADAR!I fear no enemy, for the Khala is my strength.I fear not death, for out strength is eternal!!!:)

Posted

No way, not even the dark templar couldn't prevent that... The queen of blades is almighty, and she is my daughter ;)

Pssst, Terror... if Kerrigan is your daughter, that means you're the Overmind. Which means Tassadar kicked your @$$. ;D
