The X-Files-The Truth (Spoilers)

I really enjoyed seeing Mulder and Scully together again, although I would have prefered if there had been less romantic undertones between them. I hated that the final truth was merely the invasion date of the aliens. I mean, why the hell would that scare Mulder so much? He's known about it for years already! I also disliked the way they brought The Cancer Man back to life once again, and for a total of two minutes of screen time before getting killed once again. Sure, he was a major part of the show through the years, but they could have brought him back as a ghost like they did with everyone else except Deep Throat, the Well Manicured Man, and Martin Landou.

The whole episode could have been better, but it was still a decent ending for the show, although that "Gosts saving us from the aliens if only we could hear them" was a a little stupid. Of course, since we ahd ghosts appearing all throughout the episode with no explanation (Were they figments of Mulders imagination? Were they actually ghosts?) I guess the ghost part makes sense in connection to the rest of the story.

One thing that really stood out in the episode, though, was Spender. Since when is he horribly disfigured? I remember The Cancer Man killing him, and that was that. Did I miss an episode where the aliens kidnapped him, brought him back to life, horribly scared him, then sent him back to Earth where Mulder, Scully, and Skinner met him again?

It also rases questions about the next movie, not in terms of "Are they going to answer this/that?" because, at least to me, there hasn't been anything to answer since the Syndicate was destroyed, but "What are they going to do?" Mulder and Scully are outlaws, what can they do in the next movie, which is about them? What happened with Kirsh and Skinner? Thats a question I'd like to see an answer too, but I doubt they could build a movie around it. And what about that alien they introduced this episode? Is The X-Files going to have a movie in 2012 that is a big war with aliens? Oh god, I hope not.

Anyone else get a kind of ironic feeling when Mulder, told to go North to Canada, turns around at the first chance and goes south into the States?

One thing I would like to know is what happened to The Lone Gun Men series?! It seemed kind of useless after they died, but before that they just cut the series off! It was the best series!  :'(

Oh but man the scenes from that show were awesome. I have to admit though, that not-so-fast-in-the-head-but-pretty-strong-side-kick-guy was a bad idea. Oh well

I watched The X-files in the BBC tonight, but they are still some episodes behind.

I did see another spoiler about the last episode about a week ago. with the strange question about "the lone gunman", "did anyone see them fal / die ?, I mean it is the X-files.".

So there could be still hope Acriku ;)

Havn't seen the episode myself [ only bits sofar ], but I'll get a CDrom with it in the end of this week. Can't wait to see the end of the show, it has been a long time ago when I saw the first episode on the telly.

Mulder is guided/helped by the ghosts of dead people or something which is why you see those three in some of the promo pics. To me the last episode wasn't very good but I guess they are saving most of the interesting stuff for the second movie.

I know, I know, whatever happened to that show about nightmares that used to show with Profiler, and The Pretender.  Now that was a show worth watching, a lot better than Profiler could ever be, IMHO.  Anyway, the most I see of the X-Files is the season they keep showing over and over again on FX.  What's the point in that?  Anyway, I'm glad to hear Mulder's comeing back, it's just not X-files without him.

hell yeah Jared kicks ass.  he really goes to town on the person and makes em think there going to or are dieing just to confess and stuff.  Hes a genuis tahat can do anything right? i havent followed the entire story.

Yeah, The Pretender is a great show, I wish I had time to really get involved with it's storyline.  I think the reason I didn't like Profiler so much is because it promised so much, forensic profiling in a life-like sense, but actually delivered so little, a single mother who has *flashes* of insight into vicious killings.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a new X-Files movie, I just hope it works out a lot better than the last one.  Heh, I bought it as a package deal with The X-Files Game.
