oh my goodness.lol it isnt personal because mahdi wasnt affected by it personally. if he was then he would say so in the beginning. If you were affected by it mahdi then you would have said it in the first place. if you didnt then you forgot and that would be pretty dumb. jokes are jokes. misunderstandings are the faults of those who dont explain how they feel. now mahdi. did you explain it was personal? no. so if it isnt then what is everybodies problem? logic proves me right.

Anyway, when you think it is spamming you can always feel free to IM one of the moderators. Gobalopper [ or one of the others ] will take apropriate actions and the spamming could verry well stop. There is no need for you to point it out numerous times on the topic itself, a simple IM could end it . .. .

He lived in the same town it happened in and it affected everyone that lived there... No one could drink the water for a long time after that so it DID affect him.

I had to face that stuff head on and I wont go into why. not drinking water from the tap is not as bad as a lot of problems out there and if you bring it up its kinda pointless to others. Frankly I dont give a crap about what happens in a place I dont live in. If it hurt anybody I knew it would be bad but it didnt. People seem too sensitive now days. What ever happened about keeping strength? what ever happened about caring for issues that mean something? I dont think it has ever existed. Now if you look past my shallow sarcasm I showed at the beginning of this statement and actually read what I am saying then it will make sense. If somebody else said this besides mahdi, it would be a lot different. Even if it wasnt it still shows that people are super sensitive now days. 9 11 was horrible.  U.S.S. cole was evil. Its in the past and we should remember issues that affect us. That doesnt mean that we go overboard. I can live without tap water. I can live without things that are material. I just cant live without things that mean something. If Mahdi was affected then let him speak. If he wasnt then he lashed out at me for a dumb reason. Sensitivity destroys reason.

Not personal because I wasn't affected by it?  My fault because if I was I should have explained how?  Well TMA_1, I was affected by it.  And I said I was affected by it.  Is it also my fault you didn't read any posts when I mentioned it?  

So, everytime I make a post you want me to post every single feeling I have about it?  So I'm dumb unless I say "Oh, boo hoo, this affected me in this way and that, so pretend to pity and be sympathetec."

I thought most people would have enough respect for human life that posting a message mentioning that it is the 2 year anniversary of the worst E. Coli outbreak in North American history, which killed 7 people, indirectly helped kill about that many more, put hundreds of people in the hospital, sickened more than the officially recognized number of 2,500, created as much stress on people as the gulf war syndrome (according to pyschologists and pyschiatrists), and put great mental strain on  an uncounted number of people  would not be called spam, whether or not I was personally affected by it.

Since you were the one who brought up logic, is it really logical to argue about something the above sentence proves you know nothing about?  Not drinking from a tap was the least of the problems and concerns.

Did I ask you to weep and say "Oh, poor people of Walkerton."?  No, I merely posted a topic saying that it was the 2 year anniversary of a tragedy.  If you don't care about it, then don't post anything about it.  That wouldn't bother me.

So posting a one sentence message about a tragedy isn't being strong?  Weeping and gushing about how it personally affected me would have been?  On Memorial day (I think thats what you americans call it) or Veterans Day, when someone posts a message saying "Lest we forget." so you think they are being "weak"?  After september 11, were all the people who posted messages  being weak?  is the person who posts one tpic saying "Lest we forget" spamming? Was the eprson who posted about September 11?

No, it wouldn't.  7 people died, dozens/hundreds almost died, thousands got ill that shouldn't have.  Most people have enough respect for human life not to say that a message remember that isn't spam.

I didn't say I wasn't going to say anything, I said that I had nothing more to say.  I was making a thread marking the 2 year anniversary of a tragedy.  I got upset because you called it, and still call it, spam.  A lot of people did post saying 9 11 made them "sad", t wasn't spam either.  Next septembe 11th someone will probably post saying that, and it won't be spam.  Ordos45 posts threads every time a member of the royal family dies, I don't see you calling them spam.

As for what this site is for, which one of us is a member of the staff?  Which one of us is the third longest consistent visitor to this site?  What did Gobalopper, the owner of this site say?  I don't believe he called this thread spam, now did he?  This site is a Dune News site.  This particular forum is for threads not relating to Dune.  This thread does not relate to Dune.  Therefore it belongs in this forum.

TMA I guess you didn't know about the Walkerton thing but it was a pretty big deal here in Canada especially for Mahdi seeing how it was his hometown. I think when he originally posted this thread he thought most people would have remembered it as a number of us talked about it when it happened. People didn't find what you posted all that funny which is why you are getting flamed now, it happens to the best of us. :)
