emporer gets weird when i make a camoflauged units

What are the changes you made exactly?

what version of emperor are you using? You should upgrade to 1.09 if you don't have it. Did you create the unit yourself, or was it an existing unit?

i do have v1.09. it happens when i make a camoflauged unit

and yes, the weird textures, square shadows, and weird terrain are a little freaky. it really ruins gameplay.

did you mod anything? Or has it happened since you bought emperor?

it all happened when i reinstalled the game because xp closed it (u might remember the topic on "xp closes when dune starts")

that's weird, are you running the game in compatibility mode for windows 98?

Did you always have this problem ? Has the game run before without this problem ? If so, what changed ? Are you using one of the original maps, or a home made one ?

If you can, please attach your dxdiag to your reply, with the tests on the sound and display tab run. I'll see what I can do to help..

Try to uninstall Emperor

Install direct x 8.1x again

and then install emperor

update emperor

be sure to turn off screen savers++ so the installation nnot is corrupted

i didn't always have this problem. this was kinda a problem when i reinstalled emporer. i didn't know what was going on, but i found out eventually. and this probably only happens on original maps, cause i never played on a home made (no time to make one).

I called for help, ie, I IM'd Doc Nyar, he has a better chance at this, due to the fact, this seems a tech problem, not an actuall mod problem.

If you are editing your game then you probably had leftover files in your Emperor directory after you re-installed.

Did you uninstall and clear out all the folders before you re-installed ?

i kept all of the files since i thought that i might need them later

i have to delete all folders after i reinstall? i didn't know that. so do i have to reinstall the game again and delete all of the folders?

i kinda left my install disk somewhere, so i'll have to find it. this will take a while. i'll post again later.
