House_Corrino Posted February 6, 2002 Posted February 6, 2002 The Kobra was probably on higher ground. The mino's range advantage isn't very much, but it is existant.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 10, 2002 Posted February 10, 2002 I dont know, The only thing i know the Cobra stomps the mino from afar.
House_Corrino Posted February 11, 2002 Posted February 11, 2002 The kobra does have more armoer than the mino. The mino has 4 artillery cannons and the kobra has one that firse four times as fast. However, the kobra has to deploy. The deployed kobra wins in a straight fight, but why does the mino cost more?
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 11, 2002 Posted February 11, 2002 Eh? Isnt the Mino most effective against Inf?
Timenn Posted February 11, 2002 Posted February 11, 2002 I think so, there is no infantery rush what can stand against some mino's...
Timenn Posted February 11, 2002 Posted February 11, 2002 You can better build an army of Tanks. Sardaukar are good when they are with a few (10-20 few?) Otherwise the losses of AI (AntiInfantery) units would be too many (Mino)
House_Corrino Posted February 12, 2002 Posted February 12, 2002 Minos are great against infantry and okay against armor.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 13, 2002 Posted February 13, 2002 Yes, They are good against medium armor. Isnt enough to kill a Sneaky Missile tank though, ( Missile tank rules da world )
House_Corrino Posted February 13, 2002 Posted February 13, 2002 There are 2 types of ground vehicals, each with their own type of armor.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 14, 2002 Posted February 14, 2002 Ummmm I supose you didnt readed the book from the Game."Missile tanks are Lightly armored, Although the Weight of the rockets make them heavy" :-/Laser tankExtremely efficient = Light armorEfficient = Medium ArmorBelow Efficient = Heavy Armor
House_Corrino Posted February 14, 2002 Posted February 14, 2002 Actually, it goes like this for the las tank:light vehicals: sorta goodheavy vehicals: goodinfantry: poorBy the way, it's that missile tanks don't have very many hit points, not that their armor is a different type.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 15, 2002 Posted February 15, 2002 Or maybe its that their armor is very ineffecient against AP Weapons. :P
House_Corrino Posted February 15, 2002 Posted February 15, 2002 Ineffective against rockets (all types), las guns (both types), anti-tank cannons, (to a degree) artillery shells, and all "high-tech" weapons.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Strange that Low tech is effective against high tech... LOLYou can expect shields to easily overcome a high caliber Shell of a Tank. :)Strange they dont have Laser Infantry for the ordos though.
House_Corrino Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Ya. Chemical Troopers are a good replacement, though. They aren't as good against vehicals, but way better against infantry.
nemafakei Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 Look up the warhead damage ratings in the rules.txt file to find out what's best against what.
House_Corrino Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 I've got my own "system" of rating damage against targets.
nemafakei Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 If you like... but the rules.txt system is by definition correct.Speaking of which, on the unit ranges, a mino is 16 tiles, as is a deployed Kobra; inkvine is 20. That should sort our the argument.
House_Corrino Posted February 19, 2002 Posted February 19, 2002 Our 2 systems are probably a lot alike. By the way, when I tested (I've done this many times), the mino has a very, very, very slight range advantage.
House_Corrino Posted February 25, 2002 Posted February 25, 2002 However, if the mino is even one square closer, the kobra will start firing away.
Ligic_Tha_Master Posted February 26, 2002 Posted February 26, 2002 Somehow, just somehow... I believe the rules.txt.
House_Corrino Posted February 26, 2002 Posted February 26, 2002 I believe my senses. I don't care what anyone else says: the mino has a slight range advantage to the kobra, and I've tested this many, many times.
Sardauker-Kirov Posted March 3, 2002 Posted March 3, 2002 Yes. For some Dumb reason, They dont have a Bonus on rock. I wonder why though. ::)
House_Corrino Posted March 3, 2002 Posted March 3, 2002 Don't know. Maybe they hate rocks er something.
