An interesting people are the Kurds. A distinct ethnic identity that have never had there own country. Everyone has gotten their own country: Turks, Armenians, Arayans [iranians], Syrians. But never the Kurds. Let's see how the nations of the world let this one play out.

On a side note, do you see any activity of the US 6th Fleet around you, ath?

Those are 'Communists' so the West doesn't give a damn **** about them-unless their land has valuable resources of which we are unaware yet.

Well not around be, I live in Athens. :-)

Anyway air raids in Libya continue and so does the progress of the 'revolution' forces.

Every ethnic group has their own country? The Catalans, Celts, Native Americans, Aborigines and indeed most of India might have something to say about that. Among others.

As for Libya, whether or not the West has a plan to replace Gaddafi, I doubt his belligerence was part of any supposed conspiracy. I'm not sure what that article is actually trying to say, but it seems to be largely "the West is trying to take over Libya through the uprising." Possible, certainly, but the West can hardly agree which shoes its going to wear, let alone what to do with a country.

Today Libya tomorrow Iran and no other country is safe.

...I'm actually ok with that.

I am talking about in the Middle East. The Kurds who are a distinct and completely separate people group have never had their own country.

The West is going to try to control this up and coming 'wave of democracy' that is sweeping over the Middle East, but will find that it is simply unable to do so. A great clash is coming, as each new republic will choose to vote in anti-Israeli political parties.

Isn't the 'uprising' really one group in a country against another group? Which usually involves different versions of Islam followers (Sunni vs Shia)?

There was basically a civil war in Iraq between the two groups that they had to build walls between communities.

That's exactly what the west is aiming for. Their target is Iran, so they want to create republics of the opposite group of Iran. Putting the Arabs to fight between themselves they can eliminate the threat of Iran and more easily gain access to cheap oil in exchange o 'protection' and guns.

Dante: That about the shoes was nice. Just take into consideration that the West wants to get the pie but each individual country tries to get the biggest part possible.

I hear ya'. Support the North Cypriots! Support the Kurds! Support the Armenians!

Why does Turkey get to hold so much of other people's territory [the afore-mentioned countries, and yes, Kurdistan is a country], and no one calls them to account?

Turkey, give Antioch and Alexandria back to Syria!

The link you mention says: 'US says'. Quite hard to believe them only for that. But it is logical for Iran to aid Syria. All the trouble in Arabic countries is manipulated/encouraged by US to surround Iran. They have to defend.

The Dictator's send their suppression forces to attack Keratea.

The revolted citizens send their 'love':

Obviously, The West is no saint when it comes to Middle East politics. But neither is Iran. Let's remember Israel, as Passover beings next week.

That's very interesting. As a descendant from a family whose ancestors lived in Lebanon as Orthodox people in Tripoli, obviously, I am prone to be biased against Syria, and their Army. But that is a good catch by you if this is a farce that the agitators are perpetrating. Or it could be mercenaries hired by the Syrians.

Not crazy about trying to be the policeman of the Middle East. Actually not crazy about The West/NATO trying to create 'client kingdom' after 'client kingdom' in this region. It is going to back-fire 100%, as usual when the USA/UK try to dictate the world's foreign policy as they have been for the last 100 years.

Qaddafi and the Assad family have done so much killing and bloodshed over the past 40 years, that it is easy to 'jump on the band wagon' and fight for their removal, but this could be the beginning, or the next step, of a type of regional World War.

Indeed it is. And the main targets are Iran and Israel.

Very sad news?

Bahraini forces rape, kill female poet

So far, several other women, including doctors, university professors and students, have been kidnapped or arrested by Bahraini security forces.

Rumor?

However, Press TV has received a call from the Bahraini local sources that the news about the death of the poet Ayat al-Ghermezi is a sheer rumor and that it is an attempt by the Bahraini government to discredit media.
