ken124578
Notice that all the units are in plural form. Of course they would not vs a worm 1 vs 1!! LOL!! ;D But the ADP(s) would have no problem.too bad shai hulud's can EAT air units ;D
Devastator_Mech
I could guarantee you it could, but i rarely would.Have anyone seen a worm attacking vertically? If you have seen it, you'll know what i mean. When a worm does a vertical attack and an aerial units is on top of it...... you could say goodbye to the unit. IxianMace
too bad shai hulud's can EAT air units ;D No I wasn't talking about VERTICAL worms. I know that they can eat aerial units, but I was talking about worms that skim the sand horizontally. They can NOT eat aerial units (unless of course the aircraft is sitting nicely on the sand waiting ::) ). Since ADPs are produced at the hanger and are therefore only momentarily on the ground (and on rock) they are very safe from worms that are skimming the sand because they never return to the ground after they lift off. Devastator_Mech
Well i could figure that out.....
IxianMace
I'm just making myself more clear because it seems that ken124578 mis-interpreted my post about the ADP having no problems with worms.
Devastator_Mech
Someone make some comments, its getting boring......
IxianMace
Ok back on topic. In a nutshell, here are some quick tips for getting units chevrons.1. Pick up Minos with Advanced Carryalls and the let Devastators or Missile Tanks kill them. You can do this with AA troopers, APCs, and any unit that has AA capability.2. Shoot VERTICAL worms. Great for Chemical Troopers and Flame Tanks.3. Kill light infantry with units that can kill infantry in the truckloads. (e.g. Minotauruses, Flame Tanks, Inkvine Catapults, etc). Devastator_Mech
Under your enemies protection, its not easy to pick-up your enemies harvest while also risking your adv. carryall. You'll rarely see an vertically attack. The minotaurus might do a good job in doing this, but an Inkvine is far from good while Flame Tank's range is too short. IxianMace
The minotaurus might do a good job in doing this, but an Inkvine is far from good while Flame Tank's range is too short. Inkvine Catapults are brilliant against Atreides players who just defend. They can hit Minos from outside the Mino's range, and can hit deployed Kindjal and take them out VERY nicely. The screams and burning infantry are also quite entertaining, and if you hit a large group of deployed Kindjal with an Inkvine Catapult, you'l probably get a chevron from it. :D
Devastator_Mech
Yeah, thats why i rarely use Kindjals in the battlefield (use need to deploy it, too annoying) and the minos and mongooses will act is the anti-tank part.
Timenn
And what about quick units? Like Dust Scouts, coming through your defense. Nothing is better for that then instant hit bullets, like from the Kindjals
ethan
And what about quick units? Like Dust Scouts, coming through your defense. Nothing is better for that then instant hit bullets, like from the Kindjals also, kindjal easily takes out light vehicles
Devastator_Mech
Yeah, it'll be killed much faster than it could kill something i.e mino and kobra..... deadly against it
Timenn
Eh? I can't understand your phrase
Devastator_Mech
Sorry, a little error, but lead it to not make sense at all. I've made correction already.
Timenn
I think I have said many times that I have the infantery BEHIND the first line...
Devastator_Mech
Then your infantry couldn't even shoot because of the units in front....... and i'll just shoot the unit in front of it, even the most long range infantry won't match a Kobras or mino's range. Thats why i never use infantries that needs to deploy on the battlefield.
Timenn
Aaah, I said that the infantery will catch the fast moving units which can go through the firepower of the Mino's
Devastator_Mech
Oh, yeah, but watch out for enemy's splash damage, they're very delicate.
Timenn
Eh, a line is always BEHIND another line. If they are so close that 1 line will get some splash damage that was meant for another line, then the lines weren't well placed
Devastator_Mech
If you place it too far behind, it'll be useless because your unit in front is in the way.
Timenn
Hmm, you have a very strange idea about organizing your defense...
Devastator_Mech
Strange? how? Just to note i don't use infantry on the battlefield besides early in the game.
Timenn
I just meant that you can simply place the second line in that way, that it has some effect on attacks. But can't be hit by splash damage, from weapons, which were targetted on your first line
Devastator_Mech
If you put them like a square away from it, then yes......
