What animals are mentioned in the Dune books?  This list won't include human hybrids.

The Harkonnen (Seriously! Check with the BG! They're not humans!)

Did the BG point that out at some point? I thought they really didn't care if they had totalitarian/decadent manners or anything (Rautha and Paul's line's are from there too)

He's talking about the Gom Jabbar test.  The poison kills only animals (because only animals fail the Box test, and are pricked with the Gom Jabbar).  R.M. Mohaim refers to the Harkonnens as animals.  For the record, Gurney seconds that accusation at one point in the movie ("This is a Harkonnen animal!").

In short, it was a joke.
