Deus Ex was overrated if it wasn't rated correctly. People never shut up about that game a couple of years ago.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto

Brilliant game, great story, great mechanics and fun.

the story of Deus Ex was totally original, have rarely come across something so thought provoking and mood-stirring.

"Dreamweb" is another example of gaming gone outside-the-box. Its an endearing game, have a special love for it.

"Vampire, The Masquerade: Redemption" is another game that has a pretty brilliant story attached. whenever someone brings up pc gaming, always end up talking about it.

"Myth 2" Love it.

"Rollercoaster Tycoon" Man... spent way too much time playing this game.lol

"Darklands" Probably the greatest epic RPG ever made.

I actually played rollercoaster tycoon a lot when it was released. Pretty good game. Dunno if it was underrated. They came out with so many tycoon games I havn't paid any attention to that area.

darklands was definitely underrated. Very good RPG. At times I found it hard to play though. I don't think I ever "beat" it and got to the final witches. Very huge map/cities.

Dreamweb, Darklands = what are they, I've never heard of them... are they supposed to be under-rated?

R. tycoon... It didn't seem too great... Sorry. :P

Darklands was a great game to play. If you are not afraid to play DOS based games from 1993 or so, I'd recommend playing it if you like RPG and character building.

So about 26 character traits, you can equip shield/weapon/armour/leg amour/helmet, get help from saints, mix chemicals to make potions. Tonnes of stuff to do. Get work to earn money.

Now I want to install it. Damn you!

I've tried it, but couldn't really get into it. It does not have any fps elements. Combat is real-time, but you issue orders when the game is paused during combat.

You can "aim" when fighting. Has absolutely nothing to do with FPS.

Battles are real time, but can be paused so you can tell characters what to do. When moving around on large map, time goes by as you are walking. Same for when in cities and you do stuff time goes by as you do more stuff (such as sleep, work, move around the city doing stuff).

Havn't played arcanum.

What about Tribes? I guess it probably was not underated at the time, but the fact that it is still playable makes it underated these days because of newer games and people don't know about it.

They released it as freeware when they released a new version of tribes. Still online servers to play multiplayer, even a Dune mod. I always had lots of fun with it. Liked setting up turrets all over the place. Hated when the enemy would constantly nuke our base though.

Oh but it does. You AIM while shooting someone with your gun/magic/knives/whatever... so it does.

oh, and I realize this is not really related to this topic but, is there any good fps MMO/multiplayer RPGs? I can never find any.

Yes your characters do aim. But it is not a first person shooter.

Emperor is one, but Return to Castle Wolfenstein:  Enemy Territory is another, and it was free.  It was so much more fun to play than Team Fortress or any other team based FPS.

Definitely more than a year ago. About when I started to get Xfire. I haven't had any motivation to download it again. The lack of bot support is a big turn-off for me when it comes to gaming.

What?  I've played with bots loads of times on ET.  The No Quarter mod is a must have these days too.  It adds quite a few new weapons and a better looking HUD.

It has bot support!? Official bot, or third party?

Edit: I've gotten the game, patched it to 2.60b, and Fritzbot 0.70b. The game is interesting and runs very smoothly on my computer on High settings (obvious for an old game). I'll give it a more thorough try when I have the time later.

Maybe my server wasn't being friendly, but after trying for ages to get onto a server, I gave up and uninstalled the game. RCW: ET, that is.

what is RCW?

has anyone played system shock 2? is it good?

Oh, another very under-rated game: Warlord's Battlecry 1-3
