Wow, I really like "resizeofimgp4498b0tz.th.jpg" (the one where the building is classic/old at the base, and boxy at the top).    There's something almost cyberpunk-ish about it.

Man, that is one dipsuted desing :D The idea is really cool, but there are some aspects that aren't totally controlled by the architect.

Now, come on, post pictures or links to where you host your pictures, like www.flickr.com or imageshack.

I've seen that building pretty often. It's in central Bucharest and it's the headquarters of the Romanian Union of Architects, I think. I guess they wanted to show off. ;)

Yeah, "we"  ::) showed off quite well. The thing is most people hate the glass adition. There are classical buildings all over the place. It just doesen't fit.

They are not as bad as they look. The structure in the back is a resemblance of a pencil where the cubes are just cubes. Two of them have beem combined to form a indoor lasergame arena. If you walk towards the library on the other side you will find one of the biggest gamecafes of Rotterdam in the base. I used to play Generals at that place.

Nice pictures of Care and those darned piggins. Amsterdam has just to much of them.

Weren't those cubes designed as campus dormitories? That's why I say they're unpractical for their intended purpose. LOL That's why they made them into I-Cafes :D

A Dutch architect Piet Blom designed the so called kubbus woningen or cube homes (beat that Canada for creating the film The Cube ;) ) and they where first build as a test project in Helmond. A city more East in The Netherlands. The project was a succes and later more cube's where build in Rotterdam. The idea is that they form a save forest within the city, a place to live, play and shop. So they have small stores, homes and a day care center.

I doubt any student can afford one of them.
