LOTR-Battle for Middle Earth II

Yup, I spent a day and a night downloading the demo (and the Star Wars Empire at war one).

Very good graphics, nice building capabilities (walls and buildings can now be built anywhere as long as you have space and wall weapon upgrades are very nice), the video promises a lot which I think will be delivered unlike the Star Wars demo - which gets the thumbs down from me.

Wish you could zoom out further in BFME II but like WC3 it likes to be in close-ish and then allow you to zoom up real close as the infantry are really well modelled and you may want to see your self-created hero up close!

Good demo, two skirmish maps (not tried eleves yet) nice orc enemies!

that's why I didn't like the first part. the camera is just too close and you can't zoom out.

almost every rts game has this problem, I really don't know what's so complicated about making a camera that can rotate  3 dimensional (and only be restricted by the ground) and zoom out far enough like the emperor cam can. this isn't really hard to programm, but unfortunately every rts game I've tested the last few years was either crap or if it seemed good it had a "bad camera". this really sucks...

Got the game a few days ago. It runs ok on my computer (getting a new one in a few days anyway). Sad to say that I think my favourite side has been underpowered again. This being Isengard.

Isengard is good and I like using 'em, but I find it much easier to use Goblins or Mordor (I ain't a smarmy good guy). Now maybe Isengard just doesn't suit my style of play, but I'm thinking that there's some power missing. Saruman is cool but he just doesn't measure up to Drogoth or the Witch King.

And putting a bit more damage on those seige weapons wouldn't hurt either.
