This is kinda a short thread, but after being here for awhile I have noticed something, may be wrong but I want to see if others have noticed.

I wont name names since that would be pretty out of line, but have you guys noticed that some of the annoying and impish kind of new posters always calm down after a few months and try to get liked by everyone on the site? I know this is a bit random, but something sparked my memory of this idea I have. Anybody notice this?

Posting habits: People who post threads in PRP board that have little to do with PRP and should be in General.

(I'm a parenthesis whore.)

Anyone remember andrewabc  ? :)

I've noticied that, too.  Frankly, I think as people spend more time here, they want to earn a little respect so they're not just constantly bereted, and can feel like semi-productive members of this forum.  Naturally, this theory doesn't apply to everyone (*cough*Nav*COUGH*), but most people aren't happy to just spend years irritating others.

And yeah, I remember Andrewabc.  Thank god he isn't here anymore... ;)

Dunno  A number of people come to mind - who are banned - who never wanted (apparently) anyone to like them.  Also I've noticed the trend the other way too, some people that (I personally found respecible) now seem to rant w/o cause.

I think its because some people see how blatantly disrespectful others are towards each other and become disillusioned. What's the point in being patient, honest, and respectful if no one will treat you that way? I understand the arguing area can get people emotionally charged... but there needs to be a certain... common courtesy or professionalism, too.

I think the trend goes even further, when they tried to be liked by everyone they tend to don't care anymore then just give there opinion, leave or get nasty and taunt everyone,

don't know what the next fase will be, not there yet but I think it will be like really contributing to this forum?

"Every word posted is a brick."

That's the problem with all newbies: they want to start the revolution. Like youngsters. But they calm down because they realise things are almost the way they should be.
