Golden Eye 64 ? Was that better then Perfect Dark ? And is there a new Perfect Dark coming out for the XBox360 ?

Might be worth getting one of these to play the older cheaper Cube games, and then getting the games made for this hwne the prices go down. I dont have to play the newest games as soon as they come out.

you did not see the PS3 exposition on E3? (look at gamespot for the 2hr movie). This machine is a monster. No pc can even compete with that. And running in a 2048x1024 resolution at 128 bit depth.. well is simply amazing.

But then again, i never was really a nintendo fan ;)

Actually, on the face of things the P3 is boasting better specs then the other 2, however in reality the X360 and the P3 will be around the same with the NR being the least powerful.  But Ninty said they were going for gaming and revolutions rather then power.

GoldenEye64 was the best game by far which ever came out for the N64!

I was the best at that game amost all us friends, but Perfect Dark was much much better. It was the unnoficial Golden Eye 2.

I prefer playability over raw graphics and processing power. Having said that, certain games are only possible using lots of processing power...

Well we did see RE4 on the cube, didn't we? We did. Certainly it could look better on xbox but when a game's graphics are that good, one wonders if better will be such a difference.

And I don't think Revolution will lack as much power compared to xbox 360 and ps3 as the cube did (compared to xbox and ps2 respectively). Plus there wireless gaming will be supported and if it has interesting revolutionary features, it may become the console of choice despite having inferior hardware.

but Perfect Dark was better than Goldeneye of course! Perfect Dark was an improved goldeneye, but I found it more fun to play as James Bond, than to play as Joanna Dark. ;)

hope nintendo will focus more upon advertisment, than they did with GC. N64 was probably the most successful of their consoles, and they should learn from that when I develop the next console.

Seriously though, the least you can call GC's controller is weird, certainly not the best ???. Of course, you get used to it like any controller.

Wtf.  The GC's controller was designed to make it easy to use, and it is the easiest one to use.  The PS2 controller never feels right, and the X-Box's, well let's just say you could kill people with it.

game cubes control is horrible for any kind of FPS or well just about anything.

I love nintendo's market strategy. Force all the third party companies to other consols and release one or two major titles each year... Yea no wonder no one exclusivly just owns a game cube. They always seem to have a ps2 or x-box tucked away.

You have to get a Add on to play dvds?

Wow Nintendo continues another strategy of being one generation behind of everyone else..

Ps,Saturn=Disc

Nintendo 64=Cart

DC,Ps2,Xbox=Disc

Gamecube=mini Disc

Ps3,Xbox-360=DVD/HD-DVD Thingy discs

Revolution=Regular Discs

And the PSP looks like it owns the DS by far to.. number of kids at my school with a PSP about 35..Number with a DS...2(they own a psp to)

Yea with Xbox being more advaced then the PS2, we get to see it in reverse now.  Wonder how well the 360 will hold out and if Nintendo can even compete.

Or 5 months.  The GPU for the PS3 hasn't been finished yet, and I don't think it will be ready for a spring release.  The X360 will be better then the PS3 I feel.  Just this feeling I get.  The games for the X360 I have heard are amazing, and they are only on 1/3rd power.

What have you been smoking?  It's better to use than the PS2 or X-Box controllers, partly because its ergonomically easier to use, and also its easier to obtain wireless ones, which are simply amazing.

Wow, where'd you get those facts from becaues you're so obviously right...oh wait, I have a Gamecube, but no PS2 or X-Box.  Why? Because almost all the titles that come out on the PS2/X-Box also come out on the PC, so there's no point, whilst the GC has some good individual titles, as well as the generic console ones, which are better on the GC due to its better controls.

Opposite here, where the DS is more popular with its advanced technology.

How many fps are out on game cube? compared to the number on x-box and ps2?

I got my research from market reports, in which the gamecube is a very distant third in comparison to the ps2, and x-box. It's not selling very well..

PC titles usually come out a YEAR AFTER they come out on XBOX  (aka HALO) so its still worth it to buy an XBOX and get the games .... unless you want to sit around waiting a year for the game to come out on PC.... while all your friends are enjoying it on XBOX the previous year.

I mean it was pretty freaking pointless for them to release HALO on PC a year later after it was released for XBOX.. because everyone had beaten it already and gotten tired of it.  By the time Halo came out for PC there was already HALO 2 for XBOX.  Who in their right mind is gonna be a year behind everyone else in terms of gaming?  The whole point of gaming is enjoying start-of-the-art titles while they are still STATE-OF-THE-ART.

Sure you could be a cheapass and wait 3 years for DOOM 3 to be in the 5 dollar bargain bin but the game wont be that impressive 3 years from now.  Games are most impressive and spectacular upon their release.  I mean when i look back on Halo and compare it to Halo 2 ... i can see how unrefined Halo 1 was.... but when it first came out i thought it was awesome.

So i disagree that its not worth it to get xbox and PS2 just because their titles come out on PC.... because the PC release is so damn delayed.

Wow, you used one decent example to argue your case, Halo, which as most people know is the exception rather than the rule.  In the case of games like Halo, they are an unexpected massive success, so their developers decide to bring them out on the PC too.

Gunny decribed me to a tee there  ;). cheapass who would rather wait. Thats the reason I still play emp, because I prefer gameplay over graphics and such unneeded things. I dont mean totally get rid of graphics, but its  not my main concern in a game.

I still use my N64, Prefect Dark !
