Where did the Zensunni come from, and what was house Corrino before the battle of Corrin?

I believe House Corrino was a family of powerful Sardaukar on Salusa Secundus that eventually decided to flex their muscles during the waning years of the Butlerian Jihad and secure their (rightful) position in the universe.

The Battle of Corrin was the final conflict that settled the ascendancy of House Corrino to the throne, it was mentioned in the original Dune.

The Zensunni were nomadic wanders.

And they were slaves who had revolted as well I think.

The Zenzunni were forced to migrate from planet to planet (Some planets were Poritrin, Rossak, Bela Tegeuse, Harmonthep), and eventually landed on Arrakis, where they adapted to the desert, and learned to use it to their advantage.

Shaddam is probably hinking of the DE version.

Although they do make some mention of the battle in Dune.  It took place in 88 BG (Butlerian Jihad ended in 120 BG), so no interstellar space travel to speak of.  The battle took place near the planet Corrin, in the Sigma Draconis system (Same as the Ordos Homeworld).  This battle also started the feud between the Atreides and Harkonnens.

Hey I saw the name of the Corrinos, somewhere just can't find it I think the first emperor was called Saudir I or something, but I don't know it for a fact.

Yeah, it was.

I remember finding a site which had a lot of entries copied from the DE, but it seems to be gone now (my favourites link there doesn't work).  The Battle of Corrin entry was no doubt there.

However once the Zensunni landed on Arrakis they became the Fremen over generations and were left alone pretty much until spice was discovered.
