Lynch Denies Dune Rumours

In a recent chat at his website David Lynch was asked about the rumours he is re-cutting Dune for the DVD release.  His answer was no. 

Here's the full exchange:

DAVIDLYNCH [7:39 PM PST]: I HAVE HEARD THOSE RUMORS BUT NOT FOR A LONG TIME

So that seems to be it. 

A petition has been started urging a Lynch cut of the film, but honestly it seems to me like an exercise in futility.

Pretty sure.  It's his site, anyone who wants to visit has to pay to visit, no one else can log in using that name, and a few other sites such as IMDB have all confirmed it.
