... u have no consept of the word "email servers" just because fed2k is using one... goto nexopia.com, they have about 18 servers and there are only 326,000 Users... and thats just a forum... email uses alot more space n bandwidth on a server... msn/hotmail/passport.net has about 100,000 servers... i talked to a guy that works for microsoft...

Getting back to what I was saying about stopping spam, even if only 2 email servers are used, the one closest to me, the one I retrieve my emails from need be the one that is checking for "dodgy" emails, and the system should work.

Thats what I guess microsoft were saying when they spoke about a time-cost for each email sent.

Spammers should get be labeled terrorists. Then maybe they will think about spamming once the army goes after them :)

What you're suggesting is to reroute all the roads on the world through one single narrow road (a server / few servers can handle so many connections) and check for speeders. :P

No, I am saying all roads be changed to only allow the right kind of traffic. If bad people want to make their own "roads" then thats fine, but at some point they will need to go onto an upgraded "road" and they will be caught there.

I am suggesting that servers will not remain the same but all legitimate proper email servers be changed to only accept email that has inccured the time-cost. Not a single "Road"/server. All servers.

When I said it would only take one server, what I meant is that in the "path of each email, it would only take one server", but every server would be of this new type anyway.

So there would be no more bandwidth issues then there are today (and there are issues today).
