Hey, they're human just like us. Anyway, my point is that kids will find anything. If they don't have it in the house, they'll get it from a friend who did find it in their house. There's always a way.

I may be a simpleton, or I may be summing up what everyone else said.

If you don't want to play (or your kids to play) violent video games, don't buy them!

Actually, since Sweden is considered to be one of the leading scientific communities (last I heard), it wouldn't hurt to say that professors here have said that video games are actually good and simulating for kids. As usual, the newspapers over-wrote it with the topic "Doom 3 is good for your kid" (and other papers having a screenshot of Doom 3).

This doesn't necessarily mean that Counter-Strike and Doom 3 are the best choices for such simulation and training (or whatever they call it).

I think it all depends on the morality and rules of the family. If the family is very chaotic, many separations and unrest on an everyday-basis, then I believe that the phsychology of any induvidual can be disturbed - and violent games can elevate that process.

As said, we can all agree that kids shouldn't be able to buy pornography, so I can't see why there would be something fundamentaly wrong with it.

Parents can still buy the game for their kids, so all it really does is putting the responsibility with them for 100% (bar illegal downloading)

Violent games don't cause violence in stable-minded people. If anything, they can serve as a stress release technique. It's something you can pour your anger and emotion into without hurting other, real people.

You take away video games - more anger will simply boil over into the real world.
