Darth Vader ... arise

well since were on that topic, is it true the end scene of Return of the Jedi was re-edited to show the young anikin rather than the old fat guy? If so then why didn't they edit out the old Obi? was it because they were trying to show the last time that anikin was good?

and does that also mean the young anikin gets his name added in the Episode VI credits?

In one of the last scenes in Return of the Jedi, it shows the ghost of Obi, Yoda, and what we are lead to believe is Luke's father (the old guy in the Vader suit). Remember when Vader asked Luke to take of his mask, that guy was the ghost at the end. But I have heard they re-edited it to show the Episode II Anikin rather the old man.

I might get flamed for this but Star Wars......suxz, there I posted it. It is now in the shadows of LOTR and the Matrix. the new episodes have no depth what so ever the characters have nothing to offern it's all eye candy. Darth Vader's character is not the villian that I thought he was, he is more of a puppet villian.

I'm just in it for the eye candy, no harm no fowl... *squawk*

/em does the funky chicken O0

and speaking of eye candy, that's all I got out of Matrix III; III was iffy, I was good, II was best. With the exception of the million smith / neo fight scene, that part was really lame, they should have gotten some of the pros from the Animatrix to rig that fight up. But thats just my 2 gil...

??? i love star wars and am planning on going to see it for sure... i was just saying that yes, they took out the old actor and put in the new kid from episode II and III at the end of episode VI, to help tie all the episodes together...

do you mean to say that to digital guerrilla?

I cant wait to see this film... yes the new ones have a lot of eye-candy but, hey, im a fan of eye candy :).  i do agree that the construction of darth vaders younger character could have been much better but... they didnt completely destroy it.  About the only thing i really did not like in the new episodes is when anikin goes off in episode II to find his mother.  I feel they spent a little bit too much time on that.  there are also a few problems in the episodes that are kind of disturbing to me... anikin ages 10 years but padme is the same age??? wtf... i guess maybe they age differently on different worlds???

Hehehehe ok np I was not tyring to stop you from watching Lucas' next train wreak.

Each new episode has confirmed what I always thought Lucas has run out of ideas. He wasted two of the best villians in each episode Boba Fett's father and Darth Maul. I would have rather seen Darth Maul fight Yoda (and lose) than Count Duko now that would have been worth the price on the ticket alone but that is just my opinion.

i somewhat agree, jango fett is by far one of my favorite villains (even thogh boba fett is a clone of him, and therfore the same) but i thought that was awesome that all the storm troopers are clones of jango fett! i wouldnt have thought of that!

I loved the old classical Star Wars days, the ones where Episode 1-3 wasn't thought of yet. But then they came and ruined Star Wars for me. However, I will see Episode 3, mostly because my friends are going to que for it all night long (compared to the US's months of queuing ;) ), but I don't expect much, well, except the effects and maybe some cool battles.

Oh, and they did re-edit the ending of Episode 6, as well as some other stuff, like, for example, Palpatine's face in Episode 5 when Vader is talking to Palpatine through a holographic-transmission. They also edited the sentences a bit. Oh, and don't forget the Naboo thing they did at the end of Ep6, where they are celebrating the end of the Empire.
