So if you were a candidate, what ads would you run?

Here are my three.

Ad 1: If Iran Invaded Iraq (Note-They've moved four battalions to the border with Iraq).

"George Bush became the second president in history to use nuclear weapons in war.  He caused millions of innocent civilian casualties.  Vote for a candidate that cares about civilians, vote John Kerry 2004."

"I'm John Kerry, and I approved this message"

Ad 2:  The Pope Weighs In

*incomprehensible Latin about the evils of Bush's wars* then subtitles "My name is Pope John Paul II, and I approved this message."

Ad 3:

"Kermit de frog here.  I'm running for the Green Party ticket in the 2004 elections.  It isn't easy being green.  Vote Kermit de Frog, the only candidate you can trust."

"My name is Miss Piggy, and I approved Kermi's message"

What could be better then a theocracy run in Rome by a demented old man, chosen by a group of sinister guys in robes secretly plotting everything behind the backs of say, everybody?

*goes misty-eyed* ah....

Well, over here, politics is not so much of a corporate affair, so they are known as Party Political Broadcasts, and have certain lengths and are generally more official. And we don't have tacky "I'm Screaming Lord Sutch, and I approved this message". We have a calm BBC vioceover afterwards "And that was a Party Political Broadcast by the Monster Raving Loony Party" (for those of you, that don't know, it does exist, though Lord Sutch died a few years ago).

Boris for Prime Minister anyone?

Edit: I did intend to put does, but the "n't" came out anyway: the sentence wouldn't have made any sense with the "n't" in anyway. Sorry.

Monster Raving Loony Party do exist...they're based somewhere in Devon.

I thought they were a cover for the Mountaineer Party here...bunch of monster raving loony secessionists.

They did exist, but they don't now as Lord Sutch (their founder I presume) is dead. As for the broadcasts, if Kermit got in at least everybody would know he was a puppet unlike now.
