okay, first of all I have no such subject in school which is called History. I do not have geography, history, physics or any natural science subject.

I have tried to use google to find the info I wanted, though I did not find what I was looking for. Then I thought that perhaps some of you guys had previously visited a site about this.

Secondly I said that me and the friend couldn't figure out how to make the dvd player change regions, so therefore I tried to ask you guys.

there! that should be well enough explanations.

You didn't say that the DVD-playa-owning friend tried, you said you and a couple of friends, but didn't mention specifically.

Can't you call a Philips help hotline? :D

I am at a loss of words at seeing such a lazy person! ;D

Whilst I can see your point somewhat Lowzeewee, part of this Forums purpose is to help each other,as Emperor Harkonnen did try to find the info he needs,we should help him.

Not everyone is so experienced at finding information on the net,or typing in the correct question in the search bar of Google to find the relevant info.

As to the DVD not playing, download a trial version of Power DVD,that plays all regions.

Ah,my mistake, doesn't he have a PC DVD player then ?

If you post the model number of your Philips DVD player I will look for you ,ok.

To Lowzeewee and Dustcout, havn't you both got better things to do than be picky ? you could also have asked Emperor Hark the model number, instead of just posting that. ;)

I figured that people were smart enough to understand that when we had the problem with the dvd player of a friend of mine, he had to be somewhat involved ::)

thanks Atomic. you understand. I am not experienced finding info at the net. I am not very good with the internett.

eh...of course I have a dvd player on the pc, but you should perhaps have thought the thought that I would watch it on a 30 inch tv monitor instead of a 19 inch computer monitor. Watching movies on the computer sucks!

model number is Philips 737. but it is not on the web site of philips.

This could help, maybe the settings are the same,as I have the feeling that your player might be a Pioneer with a Philips sticker on it.Maybe.

Try the info anyway it might well work.

Your player doesn't play multi region DVD'S so you will have to play it on your PC.

If you have a Graphics card with TV out ? you can connect this to your TV and play it back on your TV from your PC DVD player.

ah thank you! I was going to buy the dvd player myself, now I have to make sure that the people at the store make it multiregional before I receive it.

I would doubt it was a pioneer, since the store who sells them are the biggest electronic store in the North, and would never fake anything.
