Apollyon's Magical Mini-Patch

Well, I've been messing around for a few hours with some of the emperor files I hadn't really looked at properly yet. Here's a little patch that will work online with other people. It changes the following:

1. Camera can zoom in and out further

2. The player colours, teal and orange, are replaced with white and black respectively

3. Money can now be set at anywhere between 2000 and 60000 (Note this may not work in games where not all players have the patch so ask first [i haven't tested this with nonpatch players])

4. The FOW on the minimap is now white so that the map shape is easily seen.

I've found a few other values that I hope to put to use in the future as well, including a possible expansion to the buddy list and the ability to host 8 player games. Either way I'll keep you posted.

Simply unzip the file so that both the 'model' and the 'UI' folder

are placed in your Data folder. Then run the game and enjoy!

Yep that's right, it replaces orange, anyone without the patch will see orange, anyone with it will see black. :)

oh and it would be neat if WW released another little official patch where the Air drones are no longer buildable... brings less stress to the games...

Atreides would be seriously disadvantaged without airdrones. And I suppose I can make red selectable in skirmish, but this is mainly focused on mutlitplayer play, so I don't think it's all that important. :-

okay. A disadvantage? I hate it that i have to rush to mongoose and spread em over the field just to try and counter the air drones.

I know i'm a newbie, but i'm sure more of you should have problems with this.

If not... tell me what to do, being atreides (no anti air infantry)

yeah, but that's just plain rushing to drones... and that is 1. boring, 2. even more boring, 3. not cool

resource killing is not cool at all... well not in early game anyway... if you do that with infantry or ground forces.. that is cool.. but with them lame fast air killing air drones.. it's just soooo lame, lame lame GRRRR i hate those air drones.

Man that's pretty sweet Apo. Since you can raise the money up, be sweet to have infinite money. ;D Course could bring more advantages to some people and disadvangages to others.

Yo once i tryed to download it when i went on wol my clan tag was gone and I couldn't use black or anything.

And my buddy list was gone.....

i think it screwed somthing else up to because it doesn't show and games i know that there arn't that many people playing anymore but i've left it on for a while and no games.I'm gonna go reinstall

If you 'couldn't use black or anything' then it means you didn't install it properly, which in turn means it isn't to blame for any of your problems.

Oh and btw, you can't *see* the black or white colours, they still show up as teal and orange until you get into game (where they will be white and black respectively).

I see you're still producing your usual high quality work Apollyon. :) This game has really come a long way as far as modding is concerned. With modified music playlists, enhanced icons, user made maps, mods, and now this nice little addition, you've almost got an entirely new game. Well, almost. ;)

Btw, I hope you don't mind if I edit your Artini so that your UI patch will work with my icon patch.

He means "folders"

Go to your Emperor dir, and there go to the "data" folder. There unzip the files within the zip-file. Make sure you have "include folder names" is checked.

I reinstalled but its the same problem. But then I went to the chat and it said i was on the XCC server. You guys know hwo to turn that off .(the server)

i got the 1st problem

if i alter money from 10k i cant set it back

it alternates between 9k and 11k :(

Yeah there are some money bugs, it seems to miss out certain numbers, although I didn't think 10k was a problem one as I can change it back to that. ???

you can also zoom out 2 far and see nothing :D
