Well England does it again, not satisfied with selling Rolls Royce, now they have retired the fastest flying aircraft in the world.

Even though Sir Richard Branson wanted to take it over.

A sad day for England. :'(

well, the concorde flew for quite a while, but it was just way too expensive. Tickets were VERY expensive and you only got there about twice as fast, while the ticket is more like ten times the price, and the comfort in the concorde is not that great. An easy choice IMO. Nonetheless, i did like the concorde, as it was by far the fastest civilian aircraft available.

I had planed to take a flight on it a few years back, im sorry I dident........

Personally I think its stupid to retire it but oh well, whats done is done I guess.....

Quite a shame....

yes, both are correct, about 2 years ago one concorde crashed, and the service is crap because there is so little room in the plane, and the flight costs a lot of money

Yup once is enough !lol especially when they try to serve you Haggis ! ugh !

The bagpipes sound like someone doing terrible things to a load of Cats. What a way to be woken up in the morning.

Seriously I actually like Scotland and my Brother in law is a Glaswegian. So there !

I even understand what he's saying , well sometimes anyway.

Having climbed Ben Glass, I know a bit about the Scottish climate too. That anyone can where a kilt up there is beyond me.

Must get awful windy around the passes. ;D

The planes are old and it's very expensive to buy parts for them nowadays. You have to have them manufactured specially for those planes. The maintenenace costs are too high compared to what the company brings in with only 3 jets. It all comes down to the cash as usual.

The Scots rule IMO :) . I would realy love to go there once.

Bleh, a friend of mine went over there recently and guess what he told me. Just when I thought that the average scot was a bearded, cilt wearing bagpipe player I heard that this was not the case.

Needless to say I'm very dissapointed.

hah, it's just what you expect... i didnt' expect that anymore.... it's like americans expecting us to walk on wooden shoos and wear clothes originating from the 18th century and we are all farmers... It's the landscape and ruins in scotland that are still the same though.

If your refering to me Shygirl, I wasn't picking on you, just didn't want some of the foreign members copying mistakes, thinking they are correct.
