When you analyze the analogy, it breaks apart quick. Is this stunt for entertainment, or to send a message? The latter is what stood out. Is there any fighting? Apparently not, seeing as there is one person involved in the stunt. Is this a one-time event, or a series? Seems like a one-time event.

While disturbing to read about having a suicide be performed at a music concert, this seems to be centered around sending a message. The band is pro-'right-to-die' and they want to show their support. Of course it may just be a couple of people wanting more publicity, and previous acts have supported this.

Please, it's a publicity stunt, the "message" is merely an excuse.

Do you really beelive the people gong to this concert are paying there money to support suicide rights? No, they're paying money to see a rock band make a man kill himself on stage.

In response, the city council met Monday morning to unanimously approve an emergency ordinance making it illegal to conduct a suicide for commercial or entertainment purposes, and to host, promote and sell tickets for such an event.

Isn't that kind of common sense?

Band leader Billy Tourtelot has vowed that the concert and suicide will still take place at an undisclosed location in the city, broadcast live on the band's Web site.

Unbelievable, but look at this quote after it...

A Florida law already makes assisting in a suicide manslaughter, a second-degree felony.

So they're announcing they'll commit a second-degree felony?

Hehe... made me think of "The Running Man" with Schwarzenegger. Anyways, it will depend on how the future will look like, violent, or more like Star Trek etc. It wouldn't surprise me if real-deaths in entertainment became a reality in the future.

Barbarians never indulged in the same blood/gladiator games as the Romans. In fact, they were the ones to stop them.
