Can we all bombard EA Tech support and see if we can finally get them to answer, what it is their doing with WOL.

Maybe if they knew how many people want to play EMP online, they might think it's worth fixing, so that it works !

What do you all think of this idea ??

If they knew how many ppl played Emp online, they would SHUT DOWN WOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is why they shut down the ladders. because the ladders became pathetic. any newbie imbecile in the world could get a top rank towards the end because no good players were left on WOL and numerically, there were very few people left on WOL.

EA may be shutting down WOL right now. But if they are not, then reminding them about Emperor is only going to encourage them to permanently shutdown WOL *FASTER*. Not fix it.

I'm a little less then optimistic to weather or not EA would actually answer us. Give me a human response, or a technical support line phone number and I might change my mind slightly.

the game *DID* die a long time ago. Emp had been dead for about 1.5 years. i said it before and i'll say it again: an RTS is DEAD when it is no longer competitive, and Emp has not been competitive in ages. Emp is long-dead.

Atomic, EA does not care about you. they do not care about anybody. they only thing they care about is fattening their wallets. they have abandoned Emperor and all their C&C games, as they abandon every game they ever release within 6 months of the Retail date. they are never going to spend any time or money fixing Emperor. it's like i said: if you keep complaining to them, all that it will accomplish is to *REMIND* some scumbag there that "Why are we still keeping WOL online? It's costing us money! We need to shutdown that down immediately!".

EA is not most corporations. Most corporations DO care about their customers and know that customer care is good for business. But EA does not fit into this boat.

Nav emp is not dead as u say there is still compition u just chose not to compete if u played half the ppl in emp.

You chose not to play them cause u have little disagreements with them, i think that 0m3n brennq dawg drnknmsta gunwounds bilbo and many other players r good compition if u actually play them.

Emp is NOT dead it can be saved more and more ppl have been playin before the server trouble. It may b because of the sobig virus who knows but if we all try to save it and it works then its worth it but we need to at least try!!!!

sorry sendakon, i don't consider cheaters to be valid "players" or "competition" like you do, as every guy single you mentioned in that post has been proven to be with stats and screenshots at one time or another, or in some cases (like bilbo and gunwounds), many, many times over

i can't believe loweezee said something on-topic *AND* intelligent all in one post. Hell must be cooling! :O

yes, you're right. that is EXACTLY my point. it is only due to laziness and forgetfulness that EA has not shutdown WOL already. the end of WOL is inevitable - it is only a matter of time. to bug EA about fixing it will only accelerate the process of them shutting it down. no one will be emailing them for help with Emp once WOL is shutdown, and they'll be saving a ton of money. so Atomic's efforts, while well-meaning, will actually have the opposite effect of what he wants to happen.

as far as i'm concerned, cheating on the WOL Ladders is equivalent to a real-life felony charge in terms of how someone should be treated on WOL. i don't care how long ago someone cheated, guilty is guilty - how long ago is irrelevant. i don't mean for this thread to go too offtopic tho so i'll stop commenting about that now.

anyhow sendakon, even if i did consider cheaters who are half-decent as "competition", and you were to add every single half-decent player on WOL to your list there - Emp would *STILL* be a dead game. from what i've seen over the past few months (these are estimates off the top of my head so not entirely scientific, but reasonable at least), 95% of everyone on WOL is not even half-decent at Emp. 5% is half-decent. of that 5%, about 2% are elite players.

those numbers might be a little off, but they're not off by *much*. any way you slice it, Emp is dead dead dead.

to duncan: i got my eye on Savage - hopefully it does not turn out to be a babyish POS like War3 did. if it does not, i'll be moving on to that.

I was testing my bandwith and i found that it was fluctuating from 150 - 1699 kbps which is unusual could that b the problem with emp. could it b cause of the sobig virus that is out there i heard it takes up alot of your bandwith.

There is a way to test your bandwith on pc pitstop.com mine is usually steady 1600 before all the problems now it has dropped to 150 at its lowset point can that make a diference i ran virus scan, 3 diferent ones at that and nothing. I think thats unusual u all can check and see for your self at peek times my bandwith was really low when befroe it wasnt.

Nyar, i've kept almost all of my posts in this thread at least somewhat related to the questions and issues that the original poster has raised. I am not spamming. I am not smashing Atomic's ideas. I am merely giving him a realistic analysis of what will happen. He is obviously not familiar with EA and how they abandoned Emperor even with it's hundreds (literally!) of gameplay-bugs intact, and how they abandon everything they ever release. I am not trying to put him down. Rather, I am educating him about these matters as a service to him so he stops harboring false hopes.
