Babylon
or is it some other planet ;)
Inoculator9
Who knows, maybe Mars has breathable air, contrary to our beliefs ;) Or maybe the sandworms happened farther off in the future, lol, who knows :P
Muad dib
Ya if the first people their try and find water and put life on mars, then sandworms might pop up. ;D
Gamont Gambler
We should send a probe and stick a 'thumper' in the ground. It would be kind of ironic if we discover Mars Melange.Come to think of it, the Martian canals could have been made by giant sand worms !! ??? Dante
Come to think of it... has anyone actually smelt any of that reddish stuff there?A WHOLE PLANET of Melange!
Emperor Harkonnen
this means we can look into the future and travel in space without moving. :D
TMA_1
hmm, you might as well call mars "iron ball" because that is basically what it is composed of.lol There is no sort of life that creates oxygen, and the sand is not composed of the same matter as it is on Dune. Also there is water deep in the surface of mars, even though people think different it has much water, just not on the surface. It wouldnt be a great place for shui hulud to live, though it would eventually be possible if sandtrout were placed there.
Emperor Harkonnen
water on mars? I read that there was only water there in short periods which came with meteoritts or something. where did you get that info?
TMA_1
I remembered reading that there are stores of it under the surface of mars, or that is a hypothesis I have heard. It isnt just in the poles.
Inoculator9
Ice stores I'd think.
Emperor Harkonnen
is it water on the poles? thought that was metan gas frozen or something like that. but maybe it isn't cold enough for that. it can be as warm as 0 degrees celsius there. Duncan_ghola
the water is frozen below the surface of mars, its a dead planet, some think its core died and thats why it turned into a frozen rusty ball, i dont think this fits in because in a million years or so earths temperature will rise 10% due to the sun... well thats warm enough for ice below mars' surface to evaporate and eventualy create an atmosphere with oxygen and blah blah blah blah blah
Babylon
The 'easiest' planet to terraform is Venus, just add alga (seaweed) :D (You do need a lot of that though)
Khan
The temperature might catch the though ;)
ilexatrei
Mars has ice on its poles...Where sunlight hits not as often as it does in the rest of the planet...Venus would be impossible because there is too much lava flow...Your seaweed and any human would be burned before they even try to hit the surface....U don't need a thumper by the way... With all the idiots in NASA. You just need them to launch another project and have it crash land on Mars. ha ha ha.
Babylon
You need it in the atmosphere. There it can turn the toxics into human-friendly gasses. Once the thick cloud of toxic-gas is gone, Venus can start to cool down.
Khan
Nah, it's way to close to the sun.
Emperor Harkonnen
no it acctually isn't. I read an article about this and posted a thread in the politics forum. here is the link: http://www.dune2k.com/forum/?board=34;action=display;threadid=9866
