Halo2 will be a great game i agree, quake 4 has a similar idea but its more gruesome, instead of convenant there are cyborgs who lumber around and fight each other often, but UT2K4 is not a good game in my opinion, it has basicly no story line its just like quake 3, shoot whatever you see, if you die no matter youl respawn in a few seconds, theres no fun in that.

I do know the halo2 story line, i know they arent similar since in quake 2 the marines attacks the stroggos and in halo2 the convenant are attacking earth, but in both games marines are fighting to save humanity blah blah blah...

i know some parts arent spelled right but i woke up not long ago

and half life 2 will be even better, naturally ;D... loved that game

Half-life is just like a hack-and-slash game but instead its shoot-and-launch. :D

Hehe, look at this:

The grunt model has 199027 faces(commonly known as polygons as most games operate with triangle polygons)!

Todays detailed computer game models like those in Half-Life 2 has 3000-7500 polygons... (according to valve-erc. The numbers sound very accurate if you look at the HL2 screenshots)

This is actually almost the same as Unreal Tournament 2003 too.

I think it'll take a while before your computers can run Quake 4 unless they greatly reduce the amount of polygons.

um... yea so it wont run on anything. the min specs for HL2 is 600mhz P3. if the models are kept at there current detail it wont run on all but the most powerful computers money can buy, even when it will be released, and even then only on min specs... think about it.

its probably for a cut scene or some sht.

also even if the models are that detailed (which they wont be) that wont make it a good game, u are judgeing a game by the wrong things. the fact is u dont know any better than me whether it will better then HL2, but i do know that i have seen all the screen shots and movies and the engine is waaaayyyyyy better then anything in the past (much better then UT2k3).(oh, and also i realise that i just said that i dont know which will be better and before i said that HL2 will be better, but before u say anything, i was kidding, its just that i was caught up in the sexyness of the preveiw movies)

thats a good point, no one knows how good quake 4 will be yet, and im sure they will cut the models down so i could be playable, thats what i read in a tech forum about quake 4

For the original Half-Life, not necessarily. The storyline is intertwined with your progress, and while there is a lot of shooting going on - there is also a good story unfolding.

You seem to forget about evolution.

In the end of this year, the graphic cards will be twice as powerful as they are today.

64 bit cpu's will enter the market, but I don't know if any games will be fit for them any time soon...

But the models are still too detailed, so they will of course be cut down a bit.

I play HL quite often in my school's cyber gaming centre.No offence but its not that fun though I have already mastered it.Just nice graphics and weapons that spice up the missions.Just my own thoughts and feelings. :(

well.. here in israel most games wont survive to the stores.. and if they do it will take them 3 months.. (i hate this country!!) all quake game were never on the stores here.. so i dont know about quake 4, but if i will c it on the stores be sure i will buy it.
