I swear god, almost EVERYWHERE they can be spotted on the internet.

"Wannabe" Asian people.

Americans seems to be in the majority in this trend.

And I know alot of these people.

They either put Chan or San in front of their names, use Japanese words, try to act like a Japanese man.

Even more things that goes beyond.

And all because of Anime.

Just because I'm half Asian, doesn't mean I go act around all Japanese, Mongolian or even Chinese and Thais for that matter.

I'm born in Holland and that makes me Dutch, my family has embraced Dutch culture, period.

And yes, even moronic people uses 'leet' terms in Japanese words.

"Azn" or "leet Jap"

I'm sure of it, that any of you experienced these so called 'culture' followers of Japan?

And those people who call themselves "otaku" and for some reason feel proud that they are, when in reality "otaku" is a pretty insulting word in Japanese, meaning "obsessed".

Yea gila shames Japan IMHO... Bigest poser in the two known universes

I also agree with you. If your a white dutchmen dont act like a Jap you only end up making yourself look stupid and driving friends away. How many japanease act like americans? They dont they act like themselvs and thats what everyone should do.

Actually I'm pretty sure there are Japanese imitating Americans. And this is is because our two cultures are vastly different, almost on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Not long ago it was "IN" to imitate american lifestyle... Perhaps the people have found other "idols" that they can adapt to, now that America lost it's massive popularity. Just watch the young society in real life - if it's not Anime then chinese letters and symbolry.

actually the japanese really think our culture is neat because it is "new" and "against tradition". They are becoming westernized and it is much more of a movement than people who mimic asian people (how you can really do that I dont know as each asian person is different, like all people.lol)

Though i would bet that Japan will experience a return to the old valures - just as any other country. When people are tired of the "new" and "neat" it happens from time to time that they stick to the old values.

Now that im speaking of japanese old values: The traditional hardliners condemn the western influence heavily. Various experts on japanese old and modern culture said that "Japanese are the most rascist people on this world" - i won't comment amply on that. Perhaps this view comes from their love for their own culture and their standoffish attitude towards all the other cultures.

I know what the Hell does AzN stand for?? I see about 1/50 of the players in on online have AzN in their name...it is sad.

To bad Americans are not trying to be Canadian.

Well, you can say that the Japanese and Americans are almost similiar.

"They do not accept Foreigners!"

Well, America doesn't "want" foreign interuption. ;)

But Asian's are more interested in Western culture, they are barely interested in the Arabic cultures. (Unless they want lessons from Saddam) ::)

I did see people 'admiring' the Japanese, but not because of Anime.

They buy items from Japanese origin and house decorations.

But that doesn't mean they talk Japanese or eat Sushi every day or something similiar.

One guy on my work began talking Japanese to a group of Japanese workers.

So I told one of the Japanese guys to talk "full" Japanese to the man, it was funny, because he said Konnichiwa and said a couple of other short Japanese words.

And suddenly the Japanese people began talking Japanese, this guy got completely frustrated and confused.

As for Gila, he is a sick little man.

One of my online names is Kensai, a japanese term meaning "sword saint" Many of the fan fic stuff and stories I write are based on the Japanese culture, because I like the ancient Japanese culture, and I like to study things like the Samurai and Ninja and the Shogun wars. I mostly got interested in the Japanese Culture through Karate classes I used to take. Many of the people that I know that imitate Japanese things do it for reasons like this.

But the people who try to imitate Asians just because its "cool" are kinda dumb

yeah I know what you mean scrinlord. I rose up in the ranks of jujutsu and finally earned my first dan, took a hell of a long time and it was odd to say the least to be kid in that martial art. I am affiliated with the kodakon, and have asked kids who are obsessed with japanese culture and martial arts if they know what the kodakon is, they never do know.lol

I am not an expert in any one system, I have never had a sensai who has stuck around long enough for me to get my black belt. So I have a fairly high rainking in Karate, but not nearly so high in Ju-Jitsu and TKD. I have tried to suppliment my training with individual study, but I unfortuanatly dont have my black belt in anything, although it is fairly helpful to have a broad base in several different arts.

I wish my Karate sensai would come back, that was the best class.
