pop up turret

is pop up turret's range further than gas turret? today i feel boring so read the user manu. and i find out pop up turret suppose to have longer range. huh....?? i can't believe my eyes......isn't the range show as blue circle before a turret build? i'm sure pop up turret's rang is smaller....or........my dune has some serious problem?

No the manual just isn't correct. It was probably made before they finished balancing.

Yeah, the pop up turret has the range of a machine gun or flame turret.  The gas turret has the range of a rockey or gun turret.  The gas turret's range radius is actually about twice as big as the pop-up's

I like to use Mortar infantry for defence, they're good on top of ridges. But pop-up turrets don't seem to be able to fire over ridges. Maybe I just didn't place them correctly...

Yes I saw that ;D, but it useful to have some defense, like AA defense, or Anti-NIAB (AB) defense. Or to defend against cloaked units. But main defense it mostly with me my attack.

And the pop-up turret can be very useful when placing them when Mino's are attacking. Or for AB, or AC (anti-carryall drop) and even for Anti Infantery. (I could abbreviate that, but that looks weird :P)

the gas turret seems more useful to me. a few scattered around the base and on the edges take out all infantry that approach, or get behind the front line. (no more successful engie drops :)) deviators can take out most vehicles if you suicide a dust scout first(thanx to emprworms site), and deployed kobras can kill the rest. AA troops everywhere and AA mines above the major structures make planes useless. And of course, use your subhouses. The AA troops will also deal with NIABS if you have enough.

WW needs to fix that manual though. :P

NIABs can shoot from the side?::) EITS can stealth?:O Makers are infantry?:-/

aa mines do not make planes useless because some airdrones can kill those mines, and they're no prob. for gunhips.
