Forgotten unit

There is one unit I never read about... The Guild Maker. I haven't been playing with the Guild as a subhouse yet. So please tell me: is this such a bad unit?

Yeah it's a waste, it shoots electrical bolts at the enemies with a decent splash damage against infantry and lighter vechicles, and it supposvily keeps worms away on LW. But all together it's a waste..

It isn't a so bad unit. But there are better units you can use.

The Guild Maker can do alot of damage, but he is "weak" armored, and very slow.

And there are tanks who can easily replace this Guild Maker.

It is not that the unit is so very bad. But there better units, so why use the Guild Maker?

I see. And what about that tank thingie... the Guild Niab Tank if I am not mistaken?

You will see that one very often.

The NIAB tank has very strong firepower, is fast and has some armor and selfrepair. But most important: it can teleport.

The only disadvantage of that is the NIAB tank is frozen for some seconds after a teleport.

The NIAB tanks were a common sight on WOL as far as I can remember[that is if a n00b forgets to say "no guild or I will kick!"]but makers were not that common due to their slow speed and light armor.But their attack is rather magnificent,but not too good.

I always thought that the NIAB kind of made up for the uselessness of the maker. Not that the makers didn't have some merits...

Such as frying Tleilaxu scum. ;)

I think the guild maker's splash damage was to actually fry grouped infantry at one go just like the orc far seer's chain lightning in WC3.

But it is too damn slow.... ??? so its like ordos turrets afterall though they still serve SOME PURPOSE.

Makers aren't a worthy investment but they are useful if found in a crate. I used one in a 1v1 to fry about 30 kindjal and snipers on inf rock :).
