  1. That is not true. You make it sound like depression is really rare and untreatable. I have eight suicidal/ depressed friends and none of them ended up in "funny farms." Depression can be treated, it's not like you can't do anything to help it. God, you make it sound so damn hopeless (and it is anything but that). Therapy really helped them, too.
  2. I don't think it's unhealthy to think about death, you juts can't get consumed by these thoughts. And when oyu think about death, you really shouldn't feel hopeless, though many people do. Death is a thing of mystery, it is not for sure a bad thing. Are you sure you can't talk to someone about it? Talking to people is a way of minimizing depression. And, do you really want to die? Or do you just want to escape the pain of life?
  3. Ex, you've done it again; awesome.;D Keep going!
  4. Hurry up and write more!! It's really great.
  5. LMAO, those were hilarious, but I don't think they were from High school essays. I recognized some of them from the "Worst Analogy" contest. I hope none of those were actually from essays... :O
  6. Does anyone here believe in reincarnation? That would be my most dreaded fear; after achieving peace in death, being thrown right back on this planet to live another life and never know that we're caught in a never-ending loop. It sounds sadistic. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on the subject. (also, how many [large]religions believe in reincarnation?)

    Universe expanding

People also were positive that the world was flat. I know we have new technology now, so if you would explain I may be able to understand. (And, pretty cool theory, Ex)
  8. Free will. he din't make us a bunch of robots. not when you get into infinitely. To make a long story short. God made the the earth(stars etc) then animals then adem then eve. eve sined by eating off a tree God put off limits.(they weren't starveing they had a whole garden of other things) Eve talked adem into eating off it two. Ever since we were sinful. Sin requires a payment, so God went on the cross to pay them and if your saved(accepted his payment John 3:16) your going to heaven. I hope it makes a little more since now. ;) Yeah, the bible was written by men, too. "Oh!! It was EVE! All her! She tempted me...it's not my fault!!" And for some of the other comments, I hate it when people blame Satan for their sins. Your flaws and sins are your own problem, don't go blaming somebody else~whether somebody tempted you or not, it's still your fault if you fall under the temptation.
  9. God is perfect...does that mean S/HE isn't free? If God isn't enslaved and is perfect, then it must be possible...
  10. Humans are imperfect beings. God is suppoesedly perfect. God suppoesedly created humans, that are flawed. How can something perfect create something imperfect? Because that would mean that there was a flaw in the construction of humans, therefore saying that God's skill is not perfect, therefore saying that GOD is not perfect. Am I leaving something out?
  11. For us to have perfect happiness, like in Heaven, we wouldn't be able to have passion, would we? Passion leads to love or hate~and if it would lead to love it would also lead to jealousy that would turn into hate. (sooner or later) But would a place without passoin be...well...worth it?
  12. Scientists say that the universe is expanding, yet they also say that something cannot come from nothing. If there is 'nothing' outside of the universe, how is it expanding? There must be some sort of element out there so that the universe is a transformation of that space, therefore making it seem like space is being created instead of just transformed, right? Maybe? Did that even make sense?
