Every time I start Windows (W98, original english edition), on empty desktop pops out a window with my main disk, on which is system installed (C:). Do someone know where this weird thing comes from? StartUp in Start->Programs isn't it... Forwardly thanks for any help.

It's not in start - programs - startup you mean ?

Boot up Windows, then after it's done cloe the window before you do anything else [ file - close ] and reboot Windows. See if it still there.

it's happened with me since a long time ago, i remember it happened after my litte brother opened the pc and created a many shorcuts, and plays on the keyboard likes a piano...

it's stopped after i reformatted my pc.

Did you try the possible solution I mentioned before ?

You could use MSCONFIG [ this is a topic showing you how you can use it ] and disable all things that start up with Windows that don't need to start up. With a lottle luck there is an entry for Explorer in it.

What is LoadQM?

Process File: loadqm or loadqm.exe

Process Name: MSN Queue Manager Loader

Description: The MSN Queue Manager Loader is installed with MSN Explorer and MSN Messenger. It can somtimes use a lot of system resources

Caid, what you might want to try is WinPatrol. It's a program that shows all programs that load when windows starts up. It might give you a clue as to what program causes it (it will also give you information about the programs that start up).

I think the window is Windows explorer ? If so, click on Tools and then Folder options. If I'm not mistaken, there should be an option Restore defaults. Click on it, reboot and see if it still happens.
