lol, that is a good point. He can download a download manager. If you are desperate, they usually have utilities such a Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) on CDs you get free with computer magazines.

Can you save data copied from an removable storage medium to your hard drive, as example from a Cdrom ?

Which Windows version are you using and how are you connected to the Internet. [ LAN, behind a router or proxy server and is there a firewall, virusscanner of packedscanner between it. . if so which ? ]

i can't download at all that's the problem

I know this might be a silly question, but is your disk full?

If not do you get any error messages on your system?

Maybe use another web browser like Gobalopper suggested using Mozilla. Do you have Netscape or Opera already installed. If you don't you can always send away for a CDROM that has the web browser you can't download. I think your regisrty settings are messed up. Since you can't download anything you will have to edit the registry by hand.

If you mess up in the registry you may have to reinstall windows so I suggest backing up data you don't want to lose.

I found this online:

Can't download anything from the internet:

* Go to Start

* Run

* Type

o regedit

* hen the regedit window opens

* Navigate to this key:

o HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftInternet Explorer PluginsExtension

Be careful here, there might be a key named Extension(s), do not get the two confused.

* Right click on Extension and choose delete from the menu

You should always have at least 2 web browsers installed on your system so you can work around issues like this. You should also get a decent ftp program so you can download from ftp sites without the need of a web browser. If you had a decent ftp program you could get onto a server that has mozilla or netscape and be able to download. There is a basic ftp program that comes with Windows, but it is all command line driven and not easy to use.
