'tis been a long time since i have posted here and i just wanted to say hi to all my old buds like ACElethal (sup Ace?). I havn't been playing Emperor lately because I can't get it to run on Windows 2000 Professional! (hint hint Nyar...plz respond) Anyway, I GOT CABLE NOW!!!! WOOHOO. but it's not just ANY cable, it's like cable on steroids! I've been downloading files at 268kbs! (I've downloaded 10 megabits in 40 seconds...sweet eh?) Any just thought I'd drop by, and if Nyar has any suggestions for me i would appreciate it (i could get online and test on my new connection  ;) )

cheers!

yah taqwa, i would try and play some games...only if my windows 2000 professional (win2k) would run emperor! (I had win98 2nd edition before) It also seems win2k uses a lot more system resources than win98 (like a LOT more). I've got like a 30fps drop when i play unreal tournament, and it's also using up 70 megs of ram just to run itself! The only reason I have it on is because it doesn't crash like win98 (you can tell by ace's quote he has 98 on lol) and it recognizes my network card without any drivers (the driver diskette seems to be corrupted) I hate how it uses up so much resources and it incompatible with a lot of games though. Does everybody else find these things to be true?

Actually I have windows ME.

And to reach Nyar, you have to go to his forum.  You can find it in the general discussion section of these message boars.  He'll be able to help you out.

hey ettin, have you gotten rid of that nasty lag yet? I just got cable, so if i could play emp I'd be hostin'

Ace, windows Me still crashes just as often as win98 since it is essentially the same OS (few variances of course) you should try win2k if you're looking for stability (although it has some compatibility issues with older games) I hear winXP is supposed to quite good too. If you read the review for it on IGN or the like you will find they say it has the stability of win2k with the compatability of win98 - in other words the ultimate OS, except for the fact that it chews up system resources quite readily, but if you've got the rig this is sure the OS of choice. (I've heard form some of my buds at school that you can't play burned games on it, but i wouldn't know - i like to actually support the game companies anyway)
