Well after I have turned off load sig images, everything is working fine for me! Now to look at why it wasn't working right (get certain people to get rid of sig images)

Posted

The problem for me is, that when the setting to show signature images is on, the problem usually appears to be related in flags that people have in their signatures, especially Duke Leto's and Exatredeis'.

I've the signature images option set to off for the second day and I haven't encountered the problem any more. I've turned it on once, but the problem appeared again after looking at the first page, so I'll leave it off for now.

For those still suffering, try this:

1) Change the show signature images to No.

2) Logout manually.

3) Clear all cookies and files.

4) Close your browser.

5) Restart your browser.

6) Log back in

The above is how I solved my problem and seems to work now. Let me know if there are still people suffering the problem after done the above.

I remember a while ago I made a topic in the General forum asking people plz to reduce the size of it's signatures, since then ( a month ago or so) I had the option of "show signature images" on NO, but I had the problem of loading images anyway.

So here is what I did, since I already had the option on NO, I went back to my profile and changed to YES, saved it, then go back to change it to NO again, then I proceed as Nyar said in the steps 2-6, until now it's working fine, I hope it continues.

So if you still having some kind of issue, try to put the option on YES then go back and follow Nyar's advice, it worked for me so far.

This is how I solved my problem.

1) Change the show signature images to No.

I then noticed it wasnt working yet soooo

4) Close your browser.

5) Restart your browser. (isn't restarting browser include shutting it down first?)

Then it worked. and now I may be able to get winxp updates.(grr)

For it to work, follow the 6 steps exactly as I wrote them down. That's the only way I got it working.. And updating XP didn't help for me, problem remains..

umm, I did what I said and now I have NO problems.

:O

Unless you were talking about other people to follow the six steps to insure it to work properly.

NEW problem!!!!

ok I think the new problem came from this thread reply #6 i beleive if he is posting his flag in the post itself.

http://www.dune2k.com/forum/?board=34;action=display;threadid=10466;start=0#msg171192

yes I have my sig images off, but it is trying to download Dukeleto's flag!! USSAFlag.bmp

I suggest we get him to remove the flag from his sig and any other pictures using that site and see what happens.(BTW now all my other windows are not loading avatars, pics etc.) although I'm sure it will work after i close them all and restart IE.

ahaha, I figured something else out now that i restarted browser and went back to that thread!!

look at the pic I added.

So to solve all these problems I suggest we get DukeLeto to get a new host fro this picture, or we can all change or privacy settings to a lower level or edit manually the website to allow to view. and also to get anyone using the same host to not use it in the forums.

I suggest that Dukeleto change the picture and remove it from signiture or get a new host to show the picture.(as new members will get same problems)[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

I moved the host. Is it still a problem?

uh oh... I think it is..but i doubt it is your picture alone, or maybe it is..(as its the only one so far to seem to have problem)

But being since you changed hosts, I would more than likely say that it must be a problem with the board.

Could you not put the picture in your sig for a couple of days or until we can decide that it is not your picture that is the problem, but the board?

I know that, I don't have any problems now with sigs turned off, but I do when I go to the link I provided above..do you get that problem as well?

I would like this solved so I can view sig images.
