When they say "a group of fremen",they refer to "a group" and not the "fremen" who will kill you.

E.g.--->When that happens,"a group of fremen kills you".

i would think that it would be "a group of fremen kill you"

really does not sound right to be "a group of fremen kills you"

Lol. Slap doesn't know English ;).

EG: a group is made up of...

a group are made up of...

Obviously the first is correct. *A* group is always singular. :)

I read my Dune essay again... It has only... 12 errors... :O

Do you get the best grade with 12 errors?

I get 5 out of 6 with 2-3 errors :(, and the story was very good.

i still think it's "a group of fremen kill you"

although you are right, i'm not the best at english (in fact i would bet that some ppl that dont' have english as a first language know it better than most Americans, i even know one!)

where is Nema!?!?

The error is made because a group represent more than one individual or item.

I think some are thinking like this:

"The group kill him" = "They kill him"

However, a group is a noun in single form, so you must use the "s" in the end of most nouns in the present form.

The group,is a singular verb,not plural.

I would like to see your explanation of why "a group" is a verb ;)
