Yeah I tried talking over the comp with my buddy while playing emp but the music and sound effects kind of made too much background noise. Eveything got a little muddled over the speakers. It got better with a little tweeking of the sound on emp but still just lacked clarity. Now we talk over the phone with head sets while playing generals. It worked way better. We do live in the same city but I also have a calling plan that doesn't charge long distance either. (As a side note it didnt exactly help our gameplay either we still get our butts kicked. ;D )

Stop lying, Arohk.

You don't need gamespy to use Roger Wilco(*EDIT* Gamespy developed it and it uses their network, that's all.). It's a stand-alone progam. No, and absolutely no spyware and ads comes with it(that I have noticed). I've used it for about 7 months.

what version are you using? maybe at one time (ie 6 years ago) there may have been a release of Roger Wilco without mad spyware attached, but it's had spyware for the longest time. since you have it on your system and claim it has no spyware, i challenge you to Cut & Paste the EULA of your Roger Wilco into this thread

Here it is, Arohk. It might say there will come some ads and popups, but I've never seen anything when using it...

It's extremely long, so I've never really read it before.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

I seriously doubt a mic would help on this game, if I remember correctly good teams were almost didn't page each other, they knew most of what the other is doing, certanly at that point the coordination didn't need words.

Hmm mine never d/c. I changed my settings in the game option before hand to half what they were. Like i said though there was still a lot of background noise.

Yeah I agree with you Zamboe, the mic thing never really changed our gameplay. We still got our butts kicked by elite players. It was just a cool thing to try out at the time. I like talking over the phone on a headset with my friend on generals though. A lot better than the mic.

the only reason a mic would come in handy is if both players were occupied and some important info needed to be shared like a turret was needed or something.
