Im really thinking of getting this game soon. It looks really cool. Anybody have it and recomend it????? Cant find it for less than $50.00 USD though.

I also saw this really cool lookin mod for it. Its like all present time weapons and veichels and aircraft. All players check it out.

If you have the computer and internet connection. Go for it! 8) I haven't played it but my brother has. and it looks awsome. If you've played Medel Of Honer think of it like that game but with airplanes submarines ships guns and jeaps. 8)

I have it, and i realy like it. I've got a cracked one so i can't play online, but even offline it's fun. I'd recommend it

Yeah that will be the next game I get. Then CounterStike. Has anybody played the desert combat mod???? I hear it is really really cool and is really fun. Lookin for the best deals im so tapped for money now its not even funny.

I have got it, and it is so cool. I haven't got connection to play it online though. but it doesn't matter, cus I only borrow it right now, and got no plans buying it. completed the single player within few days

A MOD FOR BATTLEFIELD 1942 NAMED DESERT STRIKE!!! It's totally awesome, the models look incredible and they are all cool. T72 tanks, M1A1 Abrams tanks, A10 Thunderbolts, F16 Falcon's, Hercules planes, Mig29's, Hind chopper (yes there are choppers :D ), AH64 Apache Longbow chopper, Hummer either with machine gun or ToW missile, Bradley tanks, V2 rocket launchers, BMP's, and more!

ALL MODELS LOOK AWESOME!.

Imo, the game isnt quite worth the money.

Dont get me wrong, it IS a pretty fun game to play, but i have a feeling there are better out there.

The Engine was.. poorly done. Laggy as hell(running a 1.4amd w/ 1gig ddr ram + gf3 3daccel), and the physics isn't too hot. They focused WAY too much on cutting the PERFECT model instead of skinning them well, and so exagerated the polycounts which is probably the main cause for the lag. A bigger mistake imo is that they tried to make the battleships/aircraft carriers move, which is a prime contributer to the lag. They also indicate subs in some of the pics, and dont have any that ive found :P.

They seem to have ditched realism too quickly for me. Even the death animations for the soldiers are somewhat.. lame.

Well, theres your negative post to mull over. I do play the game somewhat often. Love the battle of berlin. The game is good, and fun, but just not perfect, and imo, not worth buying. There are others out there (checked out Vietcong today; wow... not "smooth" graphics, but... wow. great gameplay, awsome engine, and technically accurate. Not sure about other WW2 FFSs though).
