Keeping Campaign Mode while Modding

:)

I am sure that this question has been asked many times before:-

When you Mod Emperor, what is the maximum number of units and building you can add without preventing campaign play?

I notice that Innoculator9 has a number of mods with 10-13 units and 1 building.

I was hoping to have a Mod with 11 units and 3 buildings that allowed me to continue to use Campaign mode

;D

Great thanks for the info.

One query though - you said bullets take up less space, I have created 11 units and almost all of them have new Turrets and Bullets and the three buildings (A pop-up turret for each side, one with Hawk Defence, one with Chaos Defence and the last Plasma Defence) will each have new turrets and bullets. Is this going to hit that limit sooner?

I cant check as I am unable to run Emperor properly at the moment (8Mb Graphics means no unit picking) and it stops completely beyond 4 new unit additions

Well, certainly these will mean you will hit the limit sooner but you should still be ok with the amount you have. One thing though is that you should always test your mod after you add each unit just to make sure everything works well, especially if youre using experimental methods.

i am going to conduct some tests soon. for some reason i do not feel that there is a unit cap, but a size cap. my guess is that the rules file cannot exceed __kb. because everybody has reached a different unit limit. alphabeta originally got like 10 or 15. i don't know, i will look into it.

I agree Frodo, my max has been something like 10-15, but I have been able to get around this problem with some recent developments. I can add as many units(etc) as I want, without worrying about that limit.

Oh and by the way it *is* number of objects declared, not file size.

As proof:

My guild wars txt rules file is 245kb and it runs whereas my current mod is 225kb and didnt run until I *undeclared* the ixifiltrator.

Apollyon, I am honestly still trying to re-figure that process out. I did accidentally the first time, and now I'm not 100% on how to do it. I will, however, make it known as soon as possible. And I'm not lying, as everyone will find out when I release my Ascension of Dune Mod.
