I found my lover - http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/highendsystem/t-gamer.htm

Oh baby yes! This is probably what I am getting (with upgrade to XP PRO)!

I would go ofr the Gigabyte mainboard, instead of the Iwill.

And remember that the I850 chipset from Intel is way old. I thought of buying RAMBUS as well, but after Intel stated that they aren't going any further with it, I decided to drop it as possibility.

As far as computers go, I always build them myself. Only the first computer I ever owned wasn't build by me, but the ones after were. I simply hate computers build by Dell, Gateway, whatever.

I'm still in the process of building my new computer (some parts still aren't available), but as soon as I have everything, I'll be sure to post pics of the building process in the hardware section...

I considered building my own (from a previous thread), but can I get cool side-see-through panels of the tower, and neon fans? Basically I want eye-candy on the monitor, and the hardware to be cool-looking as well.

ya, I've seen those cases with the see-through side panels in many stores, I saw them in CompUSA once or twice, but they only come every once in a while (or so it seems here) and I saw them at a store that is in Las Vegas, but not here called Fry's (i think that was the name) and you can probably buy the glowing fans and wires at most comp stores if you ask.

I have enough money to build my own comp right now in my bank account, but my parents won't let me spend it... my parents said they probably wouldn't let me get a new one untill I was in college :'( >:(

ooo ya Ut2k3, best game I have ever played... ehem.. other than emperor: battle for dune of course ;)

I wish my parents would let me have a comp with a budget of under 3k, if i had that budget I could get a sweeeet comp on cyber power, well it would be a lot better than this one, probably 7 times the processor speed of this one at least (this one is only 266 Mhz :O )

Hey, I was searching for my USB version to see if I can buy an external CD-RW (from Iomega), and I found out how to open the motherboard side panel, and it just popped out and now I got the cd-rom out. You'd think they would put that in the manual? But anyways, I just have to get another internal one this time and I'm good :)

OK, a bit late, but...

Mine is a n HP, and I have had very few problems with it. Nothing is soldered in, every part from the floppy to the Graphics Card to the Proc chip is fully removable. It's been working beautifully, and I'll probably buy another HP when this one needs replaced.

My only gripe is the crappy monitors they make. :-

HP is not a monitor manufactorer is it ?

Think they get Sony, Phillips or Samsung. . something like that to go with it.

That's a TFT Flat panel display isn't it ?

Doubt HP makes them theirselfs . . I'm guessing Phillips / LG here, although must add that it's a big guess. . . .

I'm looking at an HP f50 monitor right here. ???

HP buys their monitors from a "regular" monitor manufacturer, but they stick their name on it. I know this for sure, cause Dell does the same and I worked there...

HP, Dell and other brand computers don't build parts theirselfs. They just buy parts from regular brands (like creative, Asus, ect) and just assamble the computer and call it theirs. You might as well build one at home and stick a HP sticker on it. It's the same.

Thought Asus didn't make some things themself ?

It has the same interiour in their laptops as the MyCom ones [ think they only sell them in Holland ]. Together with some other brands the laptop interiours are basically the same.

[ although that's a thing you are not allowed to tell I thought, just gladd it's not in my contract not to do so ;) ]

Asus grafics cards and MoBo's could be manufactored by Asus self. I'm shure on that one now.

I own [ owned ] a few things from dell. Still not shure [ never looked at it anyway ] which brand they use for their switches, the monitor I have is a Sony grafical studio monitor. They just painted it black [ I needed a black one really bad ] and replaced the Sony logo with a nice shiney round Dell one.

Hey guys, good news. I bought a CD-RW and installed it! Now I'm all ready to go. Well you guys have been great. You've been with me through this entire ordeal, from beginning to end, and to see it end this well is amazing. Thanks for sticking with me, and bless you all. WOooooooooooo!
