Let me think, we never knew Leto hda son before paul, or heard anythinga bout House Vernius controlling Ix.

Three words: Duncan Idaho's Sister.

Shaddam's Great Spice War.

Ginaz losing the War of Assassins with the Grumman.

They don't have the BG dive into the other memory the right way.

(Can't think of any right now, let me skim thru the prequels.)

In the Prequels, Yueh had been aquainted with the Atreides since shortly before Paul was born.  In Dune, Jessica says they had only known each other for six years, rather than the 15+ years.

The duke sent peopl to purchas a Bene Geserit for him, the Been Gesserit didn't send Jessica to him, and Jessica knew Leto's father.

Mahdi:  I believe, in Dune, Jessica was more referring to the influence Leto's father had on him, rather than knowing the man firsthand.

Nema Fakai:  It says in one of the Dune Appendicies that Anirul did die.  Look under the Shaddam entry.

Lost_Child:  Yeah, but remember that there were probably better medical things, which would let people live longer, or at least stay fit longer.  He also had access to some Spice, which has life-prolonging abilities.  It's still pretty old, though.

Especially considering one of the reasons he and Paul were so close was because they were close to the same age...

And if he's fifty when he dies, that means he's fifty when he hooks up with Alia, who is fifteen...

Well I was just thinking, in Dune (the novel) there is nobody who knows where the spice comes from but in house Corrino they know it's from the worm..... ???

A lot of the inconsistensies can be attributed to the fact that between House Atreides and Chapterhouse: Dune there is a period of thousands and thousands of years. Things change!

House Atreides had Old Duke - Leto I. Dune has Leto I - Paul Maud'dib. And Dune Messiah onwards have Paul - Leto II, Ghani and a couple other people. I'd hardly call that thousands of years. Maybe 200 at the most.

The Tlieaxu gave him back his youth. In theory, the Ghola Hayt/Idaho, is only about 10. At most. But the Tlieaxu fashioned him to look about Twenty.

Also, in House Atreides the abron uses Earplugs to prevent the BG from Using the voice... but in Dune they didn't seem to be invented yet since that deaf guy was send with Jessica and Paul in the Orni
